NORTH AMERICA
18. Canada
Minimum: 17yrs with parental consent for those under 18. Applicants can be 16 to join the Reserves or enter military colleges. Maximum: The maximum enlistment age is based on the requirement that a member can serve until 60yrs of age, minus the minimum years of service for the chosen career. The max age for Reserves is 60yrs.
19. United States
Minimum: 17 with parental consent. Maximum: Varies by service branch: US Army: 35yrs for enlisted personnel. The maximum for Active Duty, Army Reserves, and Army National Guard was increased to 42 in 2015, although waivers may be required.
20. Brazil
In Brazil, military service is compulsory for men from age 18yrs. Maximum age to join is 45yrs. Voluntary service is allowed from age 17, though most men are conscripted for 10 to 12 months.
So in Ghana, we can extend our Age limit to say 35yrs or even 40yrs depending on the medical fitness & non-combatant roles. We need new ways of doing things.
