So a random thought I just had is Jason didn’t show much emotion or many personality traits so far in the extended look. Rockstar did included a moment where Lucia tells him that, in a relationship, he needs to communicate and open up more.

I think that could actually be the direction Rockstar is taking with his character. Jason may have a shell around him that keeps his emotions hidden, potentially because of trauma or PTSD from his time in the military. As he spends more time with Lucia and their bond develops, we could gradually see more of his true personality come out.

So to everyone who thinks Jason is a rock, let Rockstar cook.
