Concerned to hear the PM say at today's Question Time that he plans to open up more separate units for pupils labelled as 'SEND'. As the global trend for inclusive education moves forward, encouraged by Sustainable Development Goal 4, we are going backwards. @bphillipsonMP
Over the last week, we've been marking #WhiteRibbonDay. Students from our @SSCCTY sum up our support for the cause.
As an all-boys school, it is important to show our allyship and learn about the cause.
NEU strike day 8 at George Dixon Primary in Brum and day 3 for GMB. We call on @bphillipsonMP to revoke the forced academy order. The school has made great improvements since Ofsted's visit a year ago.

Great to be on the picket line in Clapham this morning at @SFX6thForm, 1 of 40 sixth form colleges not given full funding to implement this year's 5.5% pay rise.
Solidarity with teachers fighting for a fully funded pay rise at every sixth form college #PayUp24
@warwickmansell Contrary to the opinion often expressed, this illustrates Ofsted and inspection are no replacement for meaningful accountability, in any system, but especially one fragmented as ours.
Puzzled by this sentence, in shocking BBC investigation into special academy in N London: "Whitefield School was rated as outstanding until, in 2017, Ofsted discovered the use of bare, padded rooms without windows to seclude children." Stayed OS till 2023. https://t.co/SUmkUjhPse
@RobinJTunnah@Edu_debated @antiacademies Also parents/carers have no voice in Academies. Unless they choose to give them a voice - but the point is it’s a choice. Parents often find this out only when something goes wrong. And it goes wrong most often for the most vulnerable and those with least power.
Already attacked SEND children
Dismissed SEMH needs as naughty
Now going after the most vulnerable children with attachment and trauma
This man is a disgrace to education
Detailed new piece by @Dr_Pam_Jarvis for @YorksBylines raising questions about the multi-academy trust structure, which draws on my two reports on this for @CASEupdate
As if there aren’t enough reasons to call out and boycott the disgraceful institution that goes by the ludicrous name of ResearchEd, here it goes further. Bennett and ResearchEd supporting genocide of the Palestine nation. If anyone needed any more evidence that ResearchEd stood/
Just when you think the right wing edulads can’t get any more sick, this one shows whose side he’s on. He just cant help himself making smart arse jibes like some messed up adolescent
New: Teachers working in some of England’s largest academy chains are leaving their jobs at twice the rate of their counterparts in non-academy state schools, while academies are spending less in the classroom than local authority maintained schools:

@warwickmansell@bphillipsonMP Now you know what to do to solve the teacher retention crisis. Dissolve the MATS and hand schools back to the heart of their communities.
