@brianw2013@AlexTaylorNews He was well old enough to vote then. The issue is that, while still being a UK citizen, he was not a resident of the UK at the time of the referendum. The argument is that UK expats who otherwise were still UK citizens of age weren't given the vote in the referendum.
@Haleaziz@NickNehamas I know it's technically a difference between deportation and being denied a green card, but wouldn't this run afoul of the injunction granted in AAUP V. Rubio?
@elvishcynicism@the_bishop4 MSRP is $60 from what I can gather; since the record stores decide what to sell it at after wholesaler allocation, could get as high as $75-$80. [Highest I've seen was $75, I just mention $80 to cover my bases, but I expect more places to set the price closer to the $60 MSRP.]
@18brumaireguy@createcraig@HannahFNYP Not to mention a sitting state assemblywoman! They're trying to make it sound like the gap between her and Antonio Reynoso is larger than it is. Both have a strong resume. Call any of the other 9 (by my count) Dems in the race longshots, but not these two.
@DeceasedCake@Taniel Potentially, except Pete Ricketts recruited a pro-life activist to run as a Democrat, as mentioned in the article. But apparently this guy didn't get kicked off?
@_fat_ugly_rat_ Vote totals were affected in all Dem races, not just Senate. Any time there were at least 3 candidates, only two got votes. And in those with only 2 in the primary, they are still wildly off. Like in TX-36, the Dem who won in every county except Newton atm, has 0 votes in Newton.
@AustinHoney30 A few marked as "no" that absolutely could work as child names from my perspective: Brewster, Sabine, Starr, Potter, Titus, King. At least a couple others I'd upgrade from "maybe", most notably Marion.
@PrdNewEnglander@SenLouiseLucas Here's but one mock-up of the area I made before; the 2nd becomes Harris+6, and the VRA requirements are still satisfied for the 3rd:
@kodkod87@Skepacabra@jacobkornbluh It ceases becoming immigration enforcement when American citizens are being teargassed and even killed for merely protesting or even just being in the area. Also, there's a way to do immigration enforcement humanely, and it's not using ambush tactics to detain individuals.
@admcrlsn State assemblywoman Amanda Septimo and Michael Blake challenging Ritchie Torres in NY-15 seems notable. And then there's the clown car of NY-12, though two of the more progressive candidates, Bottcher and Kasky, have already withdrawn.
@_iamblakeley@AOC@barbarismcrit Because it's moving the goalposts and asking "why won't you condemn this thing they said too?" when it should be implied based on statements already provided. If we're out here responding to every individual claim as being wrong, we're not solving the problem being addressed.
@mschultz_12 Your own conclusion is contradicted by the second line in the article! And your legislative caucus had deliberately ignored that advisory body. Only *9%* wanted the Legislature to act completely alone, which is what you've been trying to do.
Trump is illegally attacking boats allegedly carrying drugs. He brags about being tough on drug dealers.
Meanwhile, he pardons the former Honduran president — a man convicted in American court of bringing hundreds of tons of cocaine to the U.S.
You can’t make this stuff up.
@nickroberts317 The current Indianapolis-based district that keeps the Black community whole is 36% black. With this new map, it splits the Black community into 4 districts, and none of the districts reaches even 15% black. Race was absolutely a factor.
@1833Duke@JMLV51@SenMarkKelly Trump issued that statement in response to said video in question, as opposed to a general statement on sedition. His manner of response is a direct threat against those who dare speak against him.
@1833Duke@JMLV51@SenMarkKelly If that was all Trump did, why is the Senator from Arizona being investigated for misconduct? His "misconduct" was merely saying that soldiers should not follow orders that don't comply with established US law. In other words, he's telling them to follow the law.
