Principals, stock up on Post-it notes this fall! When you visit classrooms, leave a post-it note on their desk telling them how lucky their students are to have them & share something you learned or enjoyed about the visit. I call them "Post-its of Praise"

Students know when a teacher is real. They have a radar for authenticity.
* Admit when you've made a mistake
* Say Thank You
* Don't feel like you have to know it all
* Listen to them/ ask them about their interests
* Use humor/ stories
* Let them know/ see you really care

The joy I get when a former student..no matter how many years back we go…sends a text with a photo at some historical location! It brings me so much joy that they think of me. Just another reason why I LOVE my job! ❤️👩🏻‍🏫❤️

I love superintendents who take the time to be in schools because it does take planning with all they have to do but they remind us that leadership is about being present, connected, and invested in the heart center of education( school house).

There is a lighted sign that hangs in our cafeteria that says: “Badger Pride Runs Deep” This could not be more true than right now-I’ve got 40 students that came to sit for a full AP mock exam AFTER an 8 hr. day of school! These kids have grit and determination to succeed! #bprd

There should be an entire degree program out there called a BMS degree-Bachelor’s degree in Motivating Seniors-especially seniors, who only have 29 days of high school left. We have AP exams looming on the horizon and I am challenging my students to ‘run through the tape’💪🏻🏃🏻‍♂️🦡

One of my MOST favorite lessons each year is reading thru the Letter From A Birmingham Jail with my students! It is powerful! I wanted them to dive deeper-I wanted them to “do something”! That was all the instructions I gave! Peep the comments for more! #bprd
