@yiihya I imagine they are not uncommon in the previous USSR countries and especially in Russia itself. Probably many of them were taken down with the fall of the USSR, but blowing up/transporting a lot of statues would be a bit annoying, so why bother?
@RizomaSchool Few if any of my friends had summer jobs growing up. My wife’s younger cousins do, but the jobs tend to get in the way of family parties, Christmas, etc. A lot of people discourage high school work because it’s a large inconvenience with a small benefit.
@WB_Baskerville I’m fond of the colonial/colonial revival I grew up in, but my preference would be an Italianate in the middle of the countryside (lots of them in rural Ohio) or LARPing as a Parisian in a Second Empire (wherever those are found in America).
@megievalist I’ve owned Fiefs and Vassals for probably a decade and a half and have only read maybe a quarter (though I did find that quarter enjoyable).
@rachcorrine Saint-Étienne-du-Mont is my favorite church in the world. Not far from it is Saint-Séverin which has great Gothic architecture like Notre Dame but is much less busy.
