Amazingly powerful performances by Glenbard West's talented students and staff at the African American Read-In. Proud to be part of a school that celebrates all voices. Hats off to BSA, Mrs. Hollander, and the Equity & Inclusion Committee for organizing this event. #GoWest
This afternoon, our @GWHilltoppers English teachers (ft. @GWHS_Library) took a break from proctoring and grading for our annual book exchange. So many exciting titles!
Hey, Hilltoppers, what are you reading this break?
Students in my African American Experiences in Lit class had a chance to do a gallery walk of peers’ work that focused on what confines and enhances their identity. Thanks for your help @Mrs_Furukawa! @GWEnglishDept
In the first weeks of school, we’ve seen 65 classes for Book Talks and put almost 1400 books in the hands of Hilltoppers! What a start to the school year! #CultureOfReading#WestReads
Here are some unprompted sweet messages we’ve found on our study room whiteboards. Our students are living the West Way, through and through! 💚 #FinishStrong@GWHilltoppers@GlenbardDist87
Finish Strong Week at the library! Students reserve group study rooms & enjoy pizza/coffee as they prepare for finals. Teachers available for tutoring! Extended hours until 6pm! @GWHilltoppers@GlenbardDist87
61 years ago today, 4 federal marshals escorted 6-year-old #RubyBridges to her 1st day of school (1st grade), as the 1st Black student to attend previously all-white William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
It was so fun having Profe Royer’s & Profe Moran’s Spanish 3 classes recording travel recommendations at the Library! Vamos a la playa! Vamos a acampar! @GWHilltoppers@maggieoconnor83
Many thanks to more than 10 alumni who reached out to us to share their experiences of that day... Our students have so appreciated reading your stories. @GWBoosters
What an honor it was to have 9/11 survivor Stu Breslow visit our commemorative exhibit. It is now open to students and staff until 9/17 - @GlenbardDist87
