A book review and LEGOs today! This is Seisha's soulsmithing workshop. My husband tried forever to get me to read the Cradle series by @WilliamWight; the first book is Unsouled . (1/7)
@LKHamilton I often have dreams so realistic that it's hard to differentiate between dreams and memories from things that I've done. My dreams always have a "tell" that gives them away, but sometimes it's hard to catch. I used to have repeat nightmares, it's how I learned to lucid dream
@CJDsCurrentRead I think one of the reasons why authors get frustrated with the star ratings is how they are weighted on Amazon. I think anything that's not a 4 or 5 star ends up counting against the book, which isn't fair or right. It's more of a yes/no system than a rating system.
I'm trying to find guided meditations I like and I've come to the conclusion that @TravisBaldree needs to record guided meditations 😂
I've fallen asleep so many times to audio books he's narrated and I hate the voices of the meditation narrators, so Travis you have a new job!
it’s so funny to me when writers use the term “almond eyes” to mean “east asian” because like. i don’t know about other countries in asia but at least japan has a boatload of terms to describe eye shape. for example, here are some fairly common terms:
Since it's #InternationalMensDay, here's a thread of every part of the gynaecological anatomy that is named after a man, with a bit of trivia about each man. Some of the bits are very specific. Before you ask, there are no parts of the gynaecological anatomy named after women...
Abso-freaking-lutely!!
And it's even worse when you have ADHD, because 8 hours later you discover that you have a journeyman level of understanding on the subject. If it's something that really strikes the interest, 3 days later you're an expert 😂😅
Tia Mowry said her marriage was successful, but it ended because she had evolved. She spoke about divorce being a “graduation” not a failure, that success in a marriage is not about longevity but if two people are happy together. That message is gonna save some lives for real.
Happy Samhain! May the coming darkness bring you rest, relaxation, and may the celebration of those who came before you or who have touched your lives being you comfort and joy.
@tr_wong Audible is one of the most accessible and well known audio book resource, so again the easiest way to distribute and get listeners, but the policies again screw over authors.
@tr_wong That sucks. I know Amazon is a double edged sword for authors. It's a great way to get wide distribution, and kindle unlimited helps snag new readers, but Amazon likes to lock people in and then screw over authors.
@tr_wong Ugh, that's so freaking frustrating! At least there is some improvement? Is there any way readers can help push better standards, or shall we pour judgement down upon the abusive returners?
@tr_wong I thought Amazon fixed this, or was it only for the books?
It should be easy enough to program in not being able to return a book if you've listen to more than 10-15% of it. You know if you like it or not, and it would prevent authors being screwed over.
If you show frustration or anger through: sighing, giving the silent treatment, or making sarcastic comments—this is a passive aggressive communication style.
You might say “I’m fine” when asked if you’re upset.
Here’s why 🧵:
