@KellyHood939799 I was diagnosed with ADHD years ago. I just got the autism added to it this year, but AuHD makes so much sense for me. Maybe it will for you, too.
Editing required a new scene my editor & I had agreed on. First first draft in weeks. Got carried away forgot lunch, so guess I’m getting dinner. My Adhd is thrilled & exhausted. My autism is hating the total disregard of schedule. AuHD diagnosis lets me know what’s happening.
@AndreiShips First draft is the fun part for me. As long as it’s new my ADHD is happy. Writing a new book also means a regular pattern for my autism but edits have to wait for editor to get back to me so pattern is broken. Edits are hard on both sides of my brain.
Writing went much better today. I had to cut 2 days worth of pages because it’s too late in the edits to add new scenes that aren’t on the list my editor & I agreed on. Plus no adding 1st draft parts in a very final draft because my ADHD is bored with editing & wants new toys.
@SenlisHasWings I’m finally at that part of the edits where I can’t skip ahead to the parts that wrote more easily anymore. I must conquer this section and that is the problem.
Very important thread! 🙏

@AuthorGFAllen Reading physical books has helped me we discovered my love of reading. Holding something solid in my hands and reading off the page that is not a screen helps me sink into the book and it’s almost meditative.
