📢On the margins of the 5th retreat of the @APRMorg Panel and the @_AfricanUnion Peace & Security Council, Amani Africa and the APRM renewed their existing working relationship through the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The MoU aims, among others, to facilitate exchnage of information & analysis, to contribute to closing the early warning to early action gap by advancing the uptake of APRM early warning analysis in AU peace & security decision-making & to undertake joint activities including convening in pursuit of conflict prevention & democratic governance.

Today, Amani Africa contributed to the 3rd African Union – Humanitarian Coordination Forum Strategic Alignment & Joint Planning Retreat.
The retreat brought together the members of the HCF to review achievements and gaps, reflect on ways of working, and align on shared priorities, ranging from sectoral contributions and humanitarian policy frameworks to the development and consolidation of the 2026 AU–HCF Roadmap, including key actions, timelines, and responsibilitie. The engagement also provided an important platform to reflect on evolving humanitarian dynamics and strengthen strategic alignment for more effective, forward-looking coordination across the continent.

We concluded our pre-@_AfricanUnion summit signature event held in collaboration with @AU_ECOSOCC & @BurundinAddis with a clear eyed diagnosis of the challenges facing Africa and the factors accounting for these and importantly with proposals on the hard decisions that needs to be made. We thank both ECOSOCC & Burundi Embassy, particularly H.E. @willynyamitwe.
