Last week, I met with the leadership of Nestlé Ghana, led by their CEO, to explore stronger collaboration on grassroots sports development and youth empowerment.
Nestlé, through its iconic Milo brand, has consistently supported school and community sports across the country. Their new initiative, “Building Champs,” will deepen this impact by using sport to teach children teamwork, discipline and good nutrition.
As part of the programme, the 2025 U-13 National Championship will take place at the Paa Joe Stadium on 6th December 2025, following its official launch on 14th November.
Government is committed to working with corporate partners like Nestlé through the Sports Development Fund, which will provide incentives for private investment in sports and recreation.
Together, we are shaping a generation of confident, healthy and purpose-driven young Ghanaians. 🇬🇭
I had the honour of representing Ghana at the 10th Session of the Conference of Parties to the UNESCO International Convention Against Doping in Sport, held in Paris, France.
This year marked the 20th anniversary of the Convention, and the sessions brought together ministers, experts, and international stakeholders to reflect on global efforts in safeguarding sport ethics and promoting clean sport.
Ghana has made great strides in this area. With the passage of the Anti-Doping Act 2024 (Act 1116), we’ve laid the foundation for a robust, athlete-centred system of integrity and accountability.
At COP10, I had the opportunity to speak on strengthening international cooperation, equitable funding mechanisms, and continental leadership in sport governance. On the sidelines, I engaged with colleagues from the African Union Sports Council and other ministers to deepen collaboration around policy, athlete protection, and infrastructure development.
Ghana’s voice was heard. And Ghana’s vision was clear. Our future in sport must be clean, ethical, inclusive, and globally respected.
Let’s keep moving 🇬🇭
