@ace1uk @Amy__Macdonald Spend per head doesn't take account of the disproportionately higher costs of living in rural areas. Roads, rail, infrastructure, transport to hospitals. schools etc cost far more than in denser populations per (sq) mile. Isn't London shown darker red anyway compared to the SE?

By 'taxed more', I guess you mean 'generates more revenue per head due to higher wages and a greater concentration of highly paid / highly skilled jobs'.
