Today at 2pm, Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh will announce his decision on interest rates.

The consensus is that they will hold rates steady.

But there is always a possibility to hike or cut.

The bond market has the 10 year bond over 4.6% and the 20/30 year bonds over over 5.1%.

If they were truly independent, they would hike rates. But that would cause fiscal issues for the United States because it’s debt levels are too high.

Some economists believe that gold and silver would crash if they hiked rates. Historically, that is the case. But this time is different. The debt to GDP ratio is 120%. The interest expense is over 1 trillion. The deficits are $2 trillion.

Raising rates may be the most bullish thing for gold. It will cause the USA to bankrupt quicker. They will be forced to refinance their debts at higher rates, doom looping the interest expense to rise further.

Eventually, the Federal Reserve will have to cut. The national debt is simply too high to service. They will choose inflation over austerity. They will print. They already are.

In conclusion, it does not matter what the Federal Reserve does today. Quite literally all three options are bullish for #gold and #silver.
