Following a viral video circulating on social media showing a private security guard being assaulted by two male individuals, the territorial Police in Busoga North have arrested one suspect in connection with the incident.

The suspect has been identified as Warom Joseph, a supervisor with Securex Private Security Company. He is alleged to have assaulted Ayub Mbadi, also a security guard employed by Securex and deployed at Kidera Sugar Works in Buyende District.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim had been apprehended by the suspect, who accused him of stealing scrap materials from the sugar factory. It was during this incident that the alleged assault occurred.

Warom Joseph is currently in Police custody and will be charged with assault as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.

We reiterate that allegations of wrongdoing should be handled through lawful procedures and that no individual should take the law into their own hands.

Comrade Muteti Mulinge has been found.

He was dumped last night around 3am in the Lukenya area. He had to walk for a long distance to a shell petrol station where he got a good samaritan who helped him with a phone to call his brother.

He is disoriented, weak and injured. He is currently receiving treatment at Sanel Hospital in Mlolongo area. Family, friends and comrades are proceeding there.

UPDATE: LC V Chairperson of Amuria District, Hon. Isaac Omiat, has appealed to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit and RDCs to temporarily suspend their operations on the Parish Development Model (PDM) to allow teachers, especially those teaching Primary Seven classes, to return to class and prepare learners for national examinations.
