🚩 Peace with Israel is the single most terrifying word in Lebanese politics, not because it threatens Lebanon, but because it threatens every faction that has built its empire on the permanent absence of it.

I have watched this country for decades, and I will tell you what no one on a podium has the courage to say: the people who oppose peace are not protecting Lebanon; they are protecting their own relevance. Hezbollah cannot exist without the “enemy” at the gate. Iran cannot justify its corridor to the Mediterranean without a front line that never closes. And every warlord turned statesman who laundered a militia past into a cabinet future needs permanent instability the way a parasite needs a host.

That is why they prefer death over peace. Not Lebanese death, which has never cost them a single sleepless night, but the death of the system that feeds them. Christians watched their presidency hollowed into a rubber stamp issued from Dahiyeh. Sunnis watched Rafik Hariri assassinated and his political heirs forced to coexist with the architecture of his assassination. The Druze watched their autonomy reduced to a phone call from a handler. Every community outside Hezbollah’s orbit has been living under undeclared occupation disguised as national unity, and the absence of peace is the lock on the cage.
Sixty years of rejectionism didn’t liberate a square meter, didn’t build a single power plant, and didn't secure a future. It buried 200,000 people, bankrupted a nation, exiled a generation, and delivered total strategic control to a militia that answers to Tehran and calls it sovereignty.

Anyone still defending this isn’t a patriot. They are either an operative, or a hostage so conditioned by captivity that they have mistaken the warden for a guardian.

This is why peace isn’t just a diplomatic position; it is the single act capable of collapsing the entire architecture of Lebanese captivity. The moment the war justification disappears, Hezbollah loses its veto, Iran loses its last ideological foothold on the Mediterranean, and every political actor in Beirut is forced to stand naked, stripped of the conflict they’ve hidden behind for half a century.

And then, only then, the Lebanese can finally have the conversation that’s been strangled since Taif: what does this country actually look like when no one holds a gun to the table? Perhaps it’s federalism. Perhaps it’s partition. Perhaps it’s a model no one has written yet. But that conversation is impossible as long as one armed faction holds the permanent right to override every community in the name of a resistance that resists nothing except Lebanon’s own survival.

The opponents of peace know this perfectly well. They know that the day Lebanon signs, their operating myth dies. That’s why they will fight it with every tool they have: religious guilt, nationalist shame, sectarian fear. Because peace doesn’t just end a conflict with Israel; it starts a reckoning with them. And they would rather bury another generation than face that reckoning.

Enough. The absence of peace has already cost Lebanon everything except its last heartbeat, and the men who caused it are now asking for more time. They’ve had a century. The answer is no.

أنت تتحدث اليوم بكل جدية عن «عمل توثيقي جدي» حول انتهاكات إسرائيل، و«مواد أولية» قيد المراجعة، و«خيارات أفعل» لتعزيز صدقية حجتكم.
لكن دعني أذكّرك بما فعلتم أنتم وفؤاد السنيورة في صيف 2006، عندما أرسلك هو شخصياً إلى نيويورك لمناقشة مسودة القرار الأمريكي-الفرنسي في مجلس الأمن.
كانت هناك فرصة تاريخية حقيقية ونادرة: مسودة قرار قوي تحت الفصل السابع، يسمح بنشر قوة دولية تضم حوالي 40 ألف جندي، بتفويض واضح وصارم لنزع سلاح حزب الله كاملاً، ونزع سلاح المخيمات الفلسطينية، وفرض سيادة الدولة اللبنانية الفعلية على كل شبر من أرضها.
لو قبلتم بهذه المسودة كما كانت، لما بقي حزب الله دولة داخل الدولة، ولما تحول جنوب لبنان إلى مستودع صواريخ إيراني يهدد لبنان قبل أن يهدد غيره، ولما دفع اللبنانيون دماءهم وأموالهم ومستقبلهم في حروب لا ناقة لهم فيها ولا جمل.
أنتم رفضتم. أنت والسنيورة اخترتم التمييع والتعديلات التي أضعفت النص، وخرجنا في النهاية بـالقرار 1701 المائع الذي سمح لحزب الله بالاحتفاظ بسلاحه شمالي الليطاني، بل وتوسيع ترسانته تحت ذريعة «المقاومة».
النتيجة التي يعيشها لبنان اليوم هي ثمرة ذلك القرار المخفف:
• حزب الله أصبح أقوى مما كان في 2006.
• لبنان دُمّر مرتين.
• وإسرائيل تدخل اليوم الأراضي اللبنانية لـ«تنظيف» ما تركتموه أنتم ينمو ويستفحل على مدى ثمانية عشر عاماً.
التاريخ لا يرحم، يا سيد متري. لا يرحم فؤاد السنيورة، ولا يرحمك أنت. أنتما من أضعتما الفرصة الوحيدة الجادة كانت لتدويل القضية اللبنانية ولإنهاء احتلال حزب الله للدولة قبل أن يصبح سرطاناً يأكل الجسد اللبناني كله.
بدل أن تكتبوا اليوم عن «توثيق انتهاكات إسرائيل» بكل هذا الحرص على «الصدقية» والـ«مواد الأولية»، كان الأولى بكم أن تكونوا صادقين مع الشعب اللبناني منذ البداية. الشعب الذي دفع الثمن غالياً بسبب حساباتكم السياسية الخاطئة، وخوفكم من مواجهة حزب الله، ورهانكم على توازنات داخلية فاسدة.
عليك أنت وفؤاد السنيورة أن تقدما اعتذاراً علنياً واضحاً وصريحاً للشعب اللبناني عن الفرصة التي أضعتما، وعن الدمار الذي ساهم تمييعكما في صنعه.
وعليك أن تعتزل فوراً أي دور سياسي أو إداري في الدولة اللبنانية، لأن من ساهم في تسليم سيادة الدولة لميليشيا مسلحة تابعة لمشروع إقليمي خارجي لا يحق له بعد اليوم أن يقدم «نصائح» أو «توثيقاً» لأحد.
كفى نفاقاً.
الشعب اللبناني لم يعد ينقصه «عمل توثيقي جدي» ضد إسرائيل.
ينقصه عمل جدي ضد كل من ساهم في تدمير دولته من الداخل.
التاريخ يكتبه اللبنانيون اليوم بأنفسهم، ولن ينسوا.

سيذكر التاريخ ان رئاسة جمهورية في لبنان الكبير هي منصب قضى على الموارنة.
الطريق الى بعبدا اشبه بحقل ألغام محفوف بالتنازلات.
من يريد الحصول على اللقب، يقفز فوق كل ما يحمي المسيحيين، فقط من اجل كسب اصوات غير المسيحيين.
الموظف الطامح للرئاسة، يتقاعس في خدمته خوفا من اغضاب اللاعبين السياسيين.
رئيس الحزب الطامح، يقفز فوق المشروع الأنسب لبيئته من اجل اصطناع خطاب جامع وعابر يلقى استحسان عند "شركاء" الوطن.
وفي النهاية من يحصل على اللقب، اكتفى بلعب دور مدير ازمة عاجز مكبّل متردد، سجين التسوية التي اوصلته.
كيف خدّروا المسيحيين؟ بجملة واحدة مفخخة:
"رئيس الجمهورية هو (وحده) رمز وحدة الوطن".
بينما باقي المسؤولين (ومن بينهم رؤساء سلطات) هم احرار ان يجاهروا بتمثيل طوائفهم ومللهم ومسموح ان يتم انتخابهم باصوات أبناء طائفتهم فقط- وهكذا ترسم حواليهم الخطوط الحمراء.

منصب فخري دائما تملؤه تسوية (بإخراج انتخابي شكلي)، وغالباً ما يجعل من حامله أسير تناقضات التركيبة اللبنانية الهجينة: حاكم لا يحكم ورئيس لا يرأس ومعتدل لا يعدل وواقف على مسافة واحدة من الجميع لا يرضي أحد ولا يضبط أحد.
قد يظن البعض ان بقاء المسيحيين وخاصة الموارنة مرتبط بهذا الموقع، لكن الامر هو عكس ذلك تماماً. بل ان هذا المنصب بات يشكل تهديد فعلي لهم.
أفضل للمسيحيين ادارة شؤونهم بحكم ذاتي من ان يبقوا مجرّد زينة تكمّل صورة "التسامح والعيش المشترك" في ما سيف العدّ والميثاقية يبقى مسلطاً فوق رؤوسهم.
تريدون لموقع الرئاسة ان يبقى كرسي لشيخ صلح يمسك العصا من نصفه؟

لماذا لا تأخذون انتم المناصب التي تتطلب اجماع ووسطية، وتتركون لنا المناصب المتحررة من دور "الرمز"؟ اليس كذلك؟

حسناً. اتركوا كل طائفة تحكم نفسها بنفسها واتركوها هي تختار حاكماً لكانتونها، واجعلوا المنصب الرئاسي مداورة يتناوب عليه الكل فلا تبقى مهمة إدارة التناقضات حكرا على الموارنة ولا يبقى لقب "رمز الوحدة (المعدومة) حكراً على المسيحيين.
لسنا قطعة ديكور في كيان قاومنا عقود من الزمن من اجل الحصول عليه.
لسنا أفضل من سويسرا ولا نحن أذكى من الشعوب السويسرية ولا لبناننا الكبير هو اكثر حرصاً على "الوحدة" من الكونفيدرالية السويسرية.

This is an absolute scandal.

Serbian football team Crvena Zvezda has been fined €95,500 after fans choreographed a motif of Jesus Christ!

UEFA fined them for "displaying a message not fit for a sporting event and bringing the reputation of football and UEFA itself into disrepute".

The image was a traditional Orthodox tifo of Jesus Christ or Saint Simeone the Myrrh-flowing, while the text underneath read:

“May our faith lead you to victory".

UEFA has stopped games for Ramadan and openly promoted BLM and LGBT campaigns during tournaments.

But Christianity is ‘inappropriate’?!
What an utter disgrace.

Il y’a donc une “window of opportunity” qui va s’ouvrir prochainement pour la refonte de la constitution.
