Love coming home to Tampa from Fort Lauderdale. I never forget to hit with @ericfountain21 . Always a pleasure working with him for the past several years. A few of my personal favorite swings from this past lesson. @UftlB@Kduran24 @PBDiamondDucks
@JoeDoyleMiLB Great article everything mentioned is very true. Played in a collegiate league a couple years ago and before Covid is was a very good and solid league but by the time I got there it was shot and it gets worst every year, it’s all about money also
A lot of hitters confuse being late with letting the ball get deep. They’re not the same thing.
In this video I show it with a simple example.
I toss the ball and reach way out in front of me to catch it. That’s what late looks like. The ball already beat you… now you’re chasing it with your hands.
Then I toss another one and catch it slightly behind me. That’s being on time and letting the ball get deep.
When you’re late, your body and barrel are reacting after the ball passes your window. You’re forced to reach, cut across it, or roll it over.
When you’re on time, you can let the ball travel and still control it. Now the barrel can stay through the zone longer, and you can drive it with authority.
Deep ≠ late.
Good hitters aren’t reaching for the ball…
they’re on time enough to let it come to them. ⚾️

@RussellT33@mindyours0488@iam_johnw It has NOTHING to do with his draft spot at all. This dude went for 2 the first time for NO REASON then forced themselves to go for 2 to tie it and TAKES HIM OUT FOR THE WILDCAT😂😂 on 2 outcomes on a wildcat a obvious run or a trick play
Bat Speed Doesn’t set up swing path!!!!Watch 35+ hitters in this video. U can literally close your eyes at this point in the swing. If done correctly you’ll hit it, if wrong, you’ll miss. Different eras, ages, levels, sports, coaches, teams and origins, all doing the same thing. This position is the most important of all of them (especially for younger hitters). No matter how fast the bat is traveling at this point, if it’s wrong, you’ll miss!!! Approach will range from the sternum to the belly button (high / low) and on the shoulder or off a little (in/ out). Watch your videos closely, if you’re missing a lot, this could be the culprit! *the standard feel for this is place the middle of the bat below the deltoid (in the boney area below the shoulder, now take swings connected. Move the bat up higher or lower based on the tee position, turn. As u get comfortable, then add all the snapping, whipping etc u want. But u better get through this position before contact) #StanceDoctor
If you’ve been watching any college baseball scores so far this season, maybe we go back to teaching kids how to pitch and not worrying about Rapsodo data.
Some swings from the fall, can’t wait for the upcoming season!

DON’T DON’T THIS DRILL!!!!!!!!!! I strongly dislike it for younger hitters. Let me break it down for you: while every drill may serve a purpose, my main concern with this one is that it can lead young hitters to move too far away from their hands, which is risky. This bad habit can create other issues, like the back elbow dropping underneath, getting hammed, timing nightmares and others resulting in a long, looping, and slow swing.
▶️ He started the season slow, but has been on a torrid pace since late May. This is HR No. 10 since May 22 for @Pirates prospect and @NB_Baseball Future Stars Series fam Termarr Johnson. A mammoth blast. And he took his time running around the bases:

Most young hitters refuse to get into their legs.
Because it takes effort.
Hitters that do, usually have a few things in common.
1. Chest depth (chest behind waist at contact)
2. Pinstripe on back thigh will angle back.
3. Finish swing with two hands.
1 of 2 HRs 4/23/24- he’s got power, but many don’t see what makes him “consistently powerful”: there’s a difference. imo, The 4 parts that make a difference are labeled on this swing. ALL consistent hitters go through ranges of these 4 positions. -L.A.C.P. @tommywhite44
