⚠️ A personal vent / reflection. This isn’t directed at anyone specifically, nor is it an invitation for debate, just something I’ve been feeling deeply lately.

When it comes to being a member of the LGBTQ+ community, know that you do not owe anyone an explanation.

You do not have to debate your identity, justify your existence, disclose every personal detail, or exhaust yourself trying to ease someone else’s discomfort just because they don’t understand.

People may have fears, questions, or beliefs they’re working through, and that’s theirs to navigate. It is not your responsibility to shrink yourself, over-explain, or put your life on hold to make others more comfortable.

You are allowed to set boundaries. You are allowed to keep parts of your life private. You are allowed to make thoughtful decisions for yourself without needing outside approval.

Disagreement does not have to destroy love, but love that requires constant explanation, defense, or self-erasure is not healthy love.

Your existence is not something you need to defend. 🌈

@KRhodesVA I’ve always just assumed anything not in a public casting call to be under nda even without signage. Plus (not trying to be rude just don’t know how to say it otherwise) I believed it was just common sense that brining it up anywhere is breaking NDA no matter where 🥲

Recently, several casting directors have expressed to me their frustration of actors who violate NDAs by sending auditions to friends or telling actors that a certain CD is casting a certain project.

Please consider all auditions under NDA!

⚠️ Things to be wary of when auditioning on CCC and voice‑over projects in general:

- No pictures or examples of previous or current work from the project creator

- Any project that includes the usage of AI

- Projects with no description or details about what you’d be auditioning/working on

- Projects listed under “paid” but then state they’re not actually paid

- Audition lines that are extremely vague, like “Say something you think would fit”

- Projects where they cast roles ahead of time

- Unprofessional or overly casual communication that makes expectations unclear

- Projects that seem abandoned or inactive after auditions close
