They actually did a study about it. India hit a peak and went down with no widespread vaccines. The surge comes from people easily infected.

Delta came from India and their curve hit a peak and came down before they had widespread vaccinations. The surge is from low-hanging fruit. People easily infected. Every area has had a similar curve, even before vaccines

"Delta Plus" never took off in India and their curve is back down. But we could still have a winter Delta/variant wave.

Facing death from COVID is now the big reality check, often too late to make a difference for that person.
