#WritingCommunity - question. I finished the 1st draft on a zombie apocalypse novel over 5 years ago & it looks like I'll have some time on my hands for a while. Would this be an inappropriate time to publish it?
I have another book that I could work on instead. Thoughts?

@AlaineGreyson I wrote a short story once and about halfway through I got stuck. I was devastated because I knew that the story was going to end in the death of the MC and that was never my intention when the story started. The mc was a small girl who lost her father and froze to death.

So one of my friends had another friend arrested for (apparently) genuine harrasment and idk what to do.

@kathyzak99 And then sometimes it's the exact same dream that I didn't remember the first time after I woke up, but when I dream it the second time, I remember the first time and I know what is going to happen.

Sometimes I have dreams where I know what's going to happen before it actually happens. Why? Because I often have the same dream over and over again. Does this happen to anyone else?

@kathyzak99 I've had them my whole life. I had one where I was a space traveler every time we had an assembly at school. Each new dream was the next in the series, so it wasn't the same dream over and over exactly. I also taught my dream self to fly over the course of several dreams.

@kathyzak99 Every formula is made to be broken and every artist thinks they can break the formulas. But you must learn to work with a formula before you can break it, imo

@dcpfox I don't remember most of them, and most of the time the ones I remember are non-sensical. But every once in a while I have one that turns into a fully formed story in my head after I wake up.

@dudeincolorado It's definitely fun to learn what situations help writers communicate with their muses. :) Mine only talks to me when I'm asleep apparently. And I always know when a dream is meant to become a book because of the way it sticks with me and grows when I'm awake.

When I was younger, I could go into the library and pick any book and devour it.

After spending four years as an editor and honing my craft as a writer, I can no longer do this.

I started reading a book last night that I'm not sure I can finish because the writing is so bad.
