A bittersweet moment in the Hartley Lab. Yesterday, we sent off @aliocohen with a Mediterranean barbecue, cooked up by @NGoldway, and a classic cake by @GailRosenbaum! We are so proud of you, Dr. Cohen, and we wish you all the best in your new position at @EmoryUniversity!

I know you’re mad as hell about the abortion ban that just passed in the PA House on a Friday night and what happened under the cover of darkness in the PA Senate last night.

I'm going to be a[n assistant] professor!!

At long last, my paper with @cate_hartley and @GrassieHannah on decision making, learning & memory across adolescence is out in @eLife. I also made some thematic cookies to help illustrate our study and findings! https://t.co/Z6hRRdwb37 1/
These results suggest that valence biases in how we learn, which change (sometimes counterintuitively) with age, affect not only what we decide but how we remember our experiences as we navigate the world. 10/10
We also found evidence for the relation between biases in learning and memory in an independent dataset in adult participants. We’re so grateful to @ninarouhani and @yael_niv for sharing their data and supporting this analysis! 9/
