I’m saddened to hear of the passing of one of our Nation’s great leaders.
The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney is a political giant who can be credited with achieving progress on what he called “big ticket items” - those bold ideas on matters of importance that help shape the world we live in.
He is responsible for advancing free trade, concluding environmental treaties of global importance, and defending human rights on the world stage.
He had a special connection to Nova Scotia as a StFX alum, and was the Member of Parliament for Central Nova before he became the 18th Prime Minister of Canada.
I had the chance to get to know Mr. Mulroney. He became a friend and someone who I came to rely on for advice. He didn’t let political stripe get in the way and was focused on making Canada a better place.
Over the last few years, I had the privilege to work with him to help establish the Brian Mulroney Institute of Government at our shared Alma mater at StFX. It has become a world-class facility that hosts some of the most engaging thought leaders in Canadian politics and public policy, and is educating students who will undoubtedly fill roles of importance to our country in the years ahead.
Despite not being from Atlantic Canada, he cared deeply for our region. As Prime Minister, he established ACOA as our regional economic development agency, and over the past few years we worked closely together to host the inaugural Atlantic Economic Forum at his namesake institute in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
Canada is better for Mr. Mulroney’s service and dedication to public life, and I am sincerely sorry to hear of his passing.
My thoughts are with his family, friends, and all Canadians who will miss his inspiring vision and enduring commitment to the betterment of our country.
If you see a member of Kitchener’s council or @berryonline tomorrow - give them a high 5!
Council unanimously voted in favor of doing their part to solve Canada’s housing crisis.
This is the municipal leadership we need!
Saw @jamesmullinger’s show celebrating 10 years in Canada last night. Go see it - I guarantee you’ll have a laugh!
James became a citizen last year, and has his finger on the pulse of life in the Maritimes.
Proud to call you a maritimer James! We’re better off with you here!
So happy to cast my vote for @AngelaForNS! I’ve gotten to know Angela over the past 5 months (has it only been 5?!) and I’ve never been more excited about the future of our party & province and what we could be with her leading the way! #nspoli#AngelaForNS
When this campaign first began, I realized I had a lot to learn in a short amount of time.
I decided to embrace the challenge, to be vulnerable, to learn, and to be the leader who rises.
I have what it takes to lead this Party and Province. And I'm only just getting started.
R is for Rainbow! 🌈 Rainbow flags have been waving in honor of the LGBTQIA+ community since 1978. These symbols continue to evolve and take new forms, like the 2018 Progress Pride Flag by Daniel Quasar. Together, let's learn what each of these colors represent! #PrideMonth
Join me Monday, June 20th from 6 - 8 p.m. for an in person celebration of our work together over the campaign trail! I look forward to seeing familiar faces, and meeting new ones over music, snacks and conversation.

I am grateful to my friend @FredTilleyNS for constantly championing my leadership, and for hosting a meet & greet last night in #SydneyMines!
Thanks to everyone who came out and shared their support!
Wanted to highlight this interview I did with @glaad earlier in the week - I don't really talk about being a lesbian in any of my contestant anecdotes on the show, so I appreciated the opportunity to discuss what being a queer person on Jeopardy means to me
An awesome start to the day joining some friends and getting @justuscoffee at the @wolffarmmarket
Was great to meet & learn from so many vendors, as well as Chris O’Neill, Executive Director of @rosscreek Centre for Arts. Thanks for your time and insights.
Marni is a social entrepreneur and community leader in her own right! Whether from her experience as a candidate, or as a Director at the SPCA - I am so grateful to have the support of such impressive and well-respected members of our Party. Thank you, @MarniTuttle
