This *did* eventually go off the rails, but there was a lot of good election analysis too!
Our first-ever GD Politics happy hour, featuring @marywitha4 & @baseballot.
We chatted for 90 mins about everything from Nathaniel's "type," to the MN Senate race, to Brené Brown 👇
@janky_dank I'm just saying that it's very unpopular:
"66% of adults say that the method of determining representation in the upper chamber should not be changed, and all states should continue to have two senators regardless of population size."

The DSA is an unrepresentative group of Americans (very male, educated, white) that backs many unpopular policies (abolishing prisons, the police, the Senate) AND numerous popular policies (taxing rich, Medicare 4 all, rent caps).
Taken together, what do they hope to achieve? 👇
AOC could make a serious run for the 2028 Dem nom.
Mamdani is one of the most admired Dems in the country.
Their organization, the DSA, still remains pretty far outside the mainstream.
How do you square those things?
I talked to @chashomans all about it on today's episode.
Voters' views of Democrats have improved since last year.
It is still probably the case that voters are using Democrats as a tool to punish Republicans more than endorsing a specific worldview in this midterm.
That whole thing about Democrats being more unpopular than Republicans hasn't really been true for a while now, but what *is* true in our data is that the GOP image is worse among the 2026 electorate than it has ever been.
Call it the Galen Drunk podcast 🍹
One week from today, join @marywitha4, @baseballot and me for adult beverages and live Q&A.
(For the record, that's not an AI image. It was one of many outtakes from last year's podcast rebrand lol)
