@stoppinggambli1 Yeah, I am trying to avoid online betting....I know a lot of these betting sites have casinos like online roulette, which is £1000 worse than the ones in the bookies.
I thought I was driven to go on the #FOBT because of the lure of winning.
I find that I was addicted to the pain of losing.
now that the possibility of losing big and quickly is no longer there I find it easier to resist the urges even when I am in pain
Ever since the £2 #FOBT limit was introduced, I noticed that the urges to go and gamble are not as strong.
The knowledge that the potential payout is minimal seems to be doing the trick.
From a selfish point of view mate it’s roulette that my huge problem is with and this will genuinely change my life so I can’t tell you what it means to me
@collintheporter @Dlane1978@ZMceniry For the first time I am going months without and when I have episodes they are still bad but not catastrophic.
And not same I am immune to chasing my losses and of course I know I am an addict. But a recovering addict.
Thanks for the words though, I will think on them
So back to the start.
My addiction is back with a vengeance.
steps I put in place are not enough.
Monzo with gambling blocks on.
bypassed by me taking cash out.
I need to reduce my withdrawal limits.
@collintheporter @Dlane1978@ZMceniry I have been gambling for a long time. When I came on twitter I used to lose all my salary.. have nothing rinse and repeat.
I checked and there was not a month in 7 years that I had not gambled.
So I know I am going in the right direction.
@collintheporter @Dlane1978@ZMceniry Yeah that is through. But worst case rather lose 20 than 400.
I no longer get urges to gamble every day. Most days I can deal with the urges.
But for the times when that fails me, I now have the protection.
@ZMceniry@Dlane1978 Not all shops take Apple Pay.
Some shops still chip and pin.
I.e doing the Laundry, getting a haircut.
Not going to go into too much detail, but like I said there are times when I actually need cash.
