@tonyp_recovery The first step is taking responsibility, realising that you got in yourself into this mess & you have to get yourself out of it. But to escape full-on #addiction you’ll need help as we all do, while your brain rewires itself to a normal way of thinking & living. It IS possible 👍
Wetherspoons has net taking of over £50 million a year from fruit machines alone, his #ipub destroyers targeting vulnerable addicts with drink & gambling whilst his staff can barely afford to live on poverty wages. Greedy man.
@alwaysJFT Thinking about it as a daily focus has certainly helped me! Without it the enormous mess I created would have been overwhelming to my addicted mind. And those days add up - it’s been it’s been over 26 years now.
@ChrisFo76934779 You should already have organised your wages to be paid directly to someone else’s account where you can’t get your hands on it?? This is addiction Chris - if you want to finally break free of it then start treating it with some respect.
@gambler221218 Well done on your first month free of gambling, but as you know you’ll need proper support & financial controls in place if you’re going to break free properly. Go through the checklist again and implement as much as possible ASAP 👍 https://t.co/u9R08xOCPk
@AddictGamblers Lots of us have been where you are now. The only way is up - use this as fuel and make it your No.1 Priority to become the person you are capable of being. Without the gambling they’ll be queuing up for you! 👍
Irresponsible, often fraudulent gambling on credit cards has been going on a long time. #2006 Online gambler blows £158,000 of parents' money in 50 minutes. The industry deserve a credit card ban. Gambling should be from own funds only. https://t.co/azcJqhCsm2 via @MailOnline
Operator's showcase responsible gambling effectiveness as woman stacks up £100,000 debt using nine credit cards in just two days gambling online. Credit card bans have been a long time coming and of the industry own doing. https://t.co/10mPdZaMBi
@sedleybetmaster Read my book The Unbelievable TRUTH about Gambling Addiction - on Kindle at https://t.co/5yz5oQkcnm and in Paperback at https://t.co/GMPMib4dC4 - it’ll help you stop 👍
@alwaysJFT Print this off and highlight the things you aren’t doing or think you don’t need to do, and get busy before it’s too late! Trust me it works 👍

@owenbaily1982@ACEAwareNation@beattheoddsuk The 3 peaks are big but small compared to the mental mountains you’ve already climbed - an inspirational ascent and one that should give hope to others. Can’t change your past but CAN change your future! 👍
Its my birthday peeps, but more importantly on this day 3 yr ago at precisely 13:27 I walked out the bookies after fluffing everything yet again, I sat in tears on a lonesome wall and made myself a promise , never again, so far I have kept that promise, today I will not gamble :)
@ConceptWin Yes emotional connection with others is massively important, and without it addiction can develop as a substitute. This also affects brain development, all in the book 👍
@gambling_sucks And bizzarly sucking on a short pencil helped fool my brain innto thinking I was smoking and took away the craving, used to carry it with me! That and my list got me through reasonably painlessly 👍
@gambling_sucks I gave up smoking 1yr after I had broken free of gambling. Made a 30-point list of everything I wanted to gain from not smoking and carried it on me 24x7. Day 1 was high as a kite from nicotine withdrawal. Day 7 the constant salivation was gone. Day 30 didn’t miss it. 25yrs now!
