Matt Moulson had to prove people wrong his whole career. Whether it was getting cut from Midget AAA and having to play AA hockey…or scoring 30 goals with the @NYIslanders and still being doubted…he used the setbacks to work hard and achieve his dreams.
Awesome pod with my former college teammate @MMoulson

Think of the process of working towards your goals like climbing a cargo net rather than a ladder … On a ladder there's only one way up. With a cargo net, there are lots of different routes you can take to get to the top!
The more motivated you are, the more you’ll train. The more you train, the more you’ll succeed. The more you succeed, the more motivated you’ll become. Keep this cycle going. Dont let complacency stop it!
People with “natural” talent aren’t the only ones who succeed. More important than natural talent is the will to overcome adversity, discipline to keep pushing boundaries & relentless drive to be better than you were yesterday. Showing up & giving your all. That’s what matters!

For all the hockey players out there that have dreams of doing big things in this sport, one of the most important skills that you can learn is how to be in the moment.
The way that we're all wired, it's really, really easy to beat ourselves up about something that happened in the past.
It's also really easy to be anxious or stressed about something that hasn’t happened yet in the future.
It's a lot harder to focus and enjoy the here-and-now.
But for all the successful people that I've been around, many have the gift of being in the moment. Not only can they focus on what’s right in front of them, but they really enjoy it too.
So add some fun to your day.
At the end of the day…
You can’t change the past, but you can ruin your present by worrying about the future.
Give yourself some grace from past mistakes. Your today determines your future.
Live in the moment. Make it your masterpiece. And not only will that set yourself apart from your peers, you’ll enjoy the hell out of the ride a lot more.

Seamus Casey’s hockey IQ is “Adam Fox-elite,” in the words of Brandon Naurato, because of passes like this one.
Draws three defenders toward him. Backhand saucer. Perfect weight. Brilliant.
