New York police just threw newly elected Congresswoman Darializa Avila Chevalier to the ground. It didn’t faze her one bit. She got right back up, shielded the people behind her, told them to let a girl go (they did), and demanded they back up (they did).
— Niczego. Tylko swoje nazwisko.
Bez domu. Bez pieniędzy. Bez tantiem.
Tylko „Tina Turner” — imię stworzone, by ją kontrolować, a teraz jedyne narzędzie do odbudowy życia.
Zwróciła się ku buddyzmowi Nichirena, codziennie śpiewając mantry, by odnaleźć siłę.
I nadszedł rok 1984.
W wieku 44 lat wydała album Private Dancer — i wszystko się zmieniło. Ponad 12 milionów sprzedanych egzemplarzy. What’s Love Got to Do with It na pierwszym miejscu list przebojów. Trzy nagrody Grammy w jednym roku. Live Aid. Mad Max.
Karta paliwowa.
I niezłomna wola.
Tak rodzą się legendy. 🖤"

Happening now in Madrid, Spain:
Protesters march to the apartment that Maricarmen Abascal was evicted from, which sparked the nationwide protests for decent housing for all.
She would still be alive if not for the greed of the corporate landlord class.
I’ve had a lot of people asking me about the botched execution of Christa Pike in Tennessee, as well as the upcoming execution by firing squad that’s supposed to be livestreamed. Having spent nearly 20 years on death row, my thoughts and feelings about these things are so vast that I sometimes struggle to find a place to begin. I became close friends with a man who had committed murder. He was like a brother to me. I once watched him break down crying, trembling as he told me he wished he was as evil as the world believed him to be, because then he wouldn’t have to care about what he’d done. Fifteen years later, he was still having nightmares about it. I know in my soul that he would never hurt another person again. But I’ve also watched a man being stabbed to death in prison. I cried for days afterward, and something inside me was changed forever. I learned that some people are capable of extraordinary transformation, while others remain capable of terrible violence even behind prison walls. There are no simple answers here. No slogans or political arguments that can adequately address the complexity of human beings, guilt, punishment, and suffering.
But there is one thing I want to say about the upcoming execution by firing squad. Don’t watch it. Whatever you believe about the death penalty, even if you think the person being executed deserves to die, don’t watch it. You cannot witness a human being being killed and simply walk away unchanged. What you see becomes part of you. It follows you into places you never expected it to reach. There are things I witnessed in prison that I would give anything to forget, things that still cast a shadow over my life decades later. There’s a difference between understanding that terrible things happen in the world and deliberately making yourself a spectator to them. I don’t have all the answers about justice, punishment, or forgiveness. But I do know that killing another human being should never become so ordinary that we turn it into something to watch from the comfort of our living rooms.
The breathtaking bravery of the students who know they'll be arrested for protesting and do it anyway.
What is happening in France is not a protest. It is a revolution.
This has to be the video of the year. Bally Bagayoko who is the mayor of French city Saint-Denis shouts at police to “Stop!” and protects the student protesters.
NOBODY is connecting the dots on these Gen Z protests.
India. France. Spain. Chile.
Different signs. Same problem.
Young people can't get hired.
Can't afford rent.
Can't afford a house.
Can't see a future.
At the same time, AI is quietly deleting the jobs they were supposed to start with.
Entry-level hiring has COLLAPSED since 2024.
You can't tell a generation to "work hard" when the first rung of the ladder is gone.
The streets are the only place left.

Australia has a housing plan — for building public housing for thousands of American troops coming to the new US bases sprouting up around continent.
We need housing for all — we don’t need the bases, the foreign troops, or more soldiers housing.

My friend who lives in Belgium asked me:
“Will you be okay in the coming days?”
I answered him: “Yes, definitely. Don’t worry.”
He asked me: “Can you promise me that?”
I answered: “Yes, I promise you.”
Then we ended the conversation.
From that moment until now, I have not been able to stop crying, because I do not know what will happen to me. I do not know how much longer I will remain alive here. I could be killed at any moment.
I smiled at him with a small lie so that he would not worry, then I was left alone carrying a truth that I do not even have the strength to face.
Great to see an Aussie comedian give an articulate POV on what is happening with the economy ATM.
Interesting fact about Luke is he holds a bachelors in economics, Dave Hughes can't even hold his bladder so pisses into @meladoodle glass.

Iceland’s Foreign Minister Thorgerdur Katrin Gunnarsdottir hit back at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after he called diplomats who walked out of his UN address ‘moral cowards’.
I am currently going through one of the most exhausting periods of my life because of the illness that is eating away at my body, while at the same time I am trying to provide for my family and support my children, as I continue striving to secure the costs of my studies and achieve my dream.
We have already reached 28% of the total tuition fees for my master’s program, and now we hope to reach 30% together.
Your support can make a huge difference in saving my life and holding on to my dream despite everything I am going through.
Please don’t hesitate to donate, and if you cannot, sharing the campaign could mean a lot to me.🙏

Actress Susan Sarandon being arrested earlier today for protesting Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations. One is speaking out against genocide, one is committing it. One was arrested, one was not.
We have a system that tackles inflation by suppressing the household income of workers while protecting housing wealth & corporate profits. Until the concentration of wealth in the country is confronted, working people will keep paying the price.
The recent AI hack is not a wake-up call, it's a call to arms. Gov’s & regulators need to move much faster if we have any hope of putting guardrails around this rapidly evolving technology. And the corporations responsible for creating it need to be held accountable. #politas
“Disney+ will now have ads on every plan.”
You know what? Where the hell is my DVD player? I’m ready to go back to buying movies, owning them forever, and watching them in peace.
