Not really keen on this, the game kept feeling fresh in the original because the sandbox expanded as the game progressed.

There is literally no reason to have a shotgun this early in the game.

@Evantually68 It’s not really an odd nitpick when weapons like the sniper, shotgun, rocket etc only appear at certain points in the original game. That is called intentional game design. The gameplay during that specific mission was built around the sandbox- not the other way around

If you play on easy then you can find the shotgun at the crashed Pelican right at the start, but any other difficulty you’d find the shotgun after the flood reveal.

I really wish that Halo Studios used CE as an opportunity to start basic.

Strip the sandbox, movement & gameplay back to its bare minimum, nail it and then progressively add new things with each game.

There’s a lot I see with the gameplay that I really don’t like.
