लखनऊ में एक इमारत में लगी भीषण आग में तक़रीबन डेढ़ दर्जन युवाओं की दर्दनाक मौत हो गई। वहाँ मौजूद युवाओं की चीखें और गवाही सुनिए—यह सिर्फ़ एक हादसा नहीं, हमारे समय की एक भयावह सच्चाई है।

इस आग में कुछ लोग जलकर मारे गए, लेकिन उससे भी बड़ा सवाल यह है कि जिन लोगों को युवाओं ने अपनी उम्मीदों और भविष्य की जिम्मेदारी सौंपी थी, उन्होंने उनके लिए क्या किया?

रोज़गार, शिक्षा, सुरक्षा और बेहतर व्यवस्था की जगह समाज को धर्म और नफ़रत की आग में झोंका जा रहा है। एक आग इमारतों को जलाती है, दूसरी आग पीढ़ियों के सपनों को।

हम जैसे लोग बरसों से चेतावनी देते आ रहे हैं कि नफ़रत की राजनीति का अंत कभी अच्छा नहीं होता। मगर अगर अब भी नहीं संभले, अगर अब भी असली मुद्दों पर सवाल नहीं पूछे, तो सिर्फ़ इमारतें नहीं जलेंगी—सपने जलेंगे, भविष्य जलेगा, और एक पूरा समाज राख में बदलता चला जाएगा।

वक़्त अभी भी है। तय करना हमें है कि हम आग बुझाने वालों के साथ खड़े होंगे या आग फैलाने वालों के साथ।
