"Evil doesn't have the last word... Joy and laughter, caring and compassion; those are what prevail in the end." - Desmond Tutu at the founding of The Elders, July 2007.
Now on a staggering 39 MILLION VIEWS! Despite an almost complete media blackout from UK News Channels the public have sent a powerful message. If it’s ruffling this many feathers now just imagine when it hits 50 million. Let’s keep going!
When this pandemic started to take hold, I knew it would be brutal. But I never imagined that the virus would find itself so many human allies - people who would reject science and argue for a medieval approach, rejecting masks, vaccines, even ventilation - as the devil’s work.
@PunchlineGlos@rivercottage@StroudBrewery@HughFW We know the hops to have been there for at least 40 years. Historically, this small cottage may have had a small brew house and we have found 19th c malting tiles in the garden.
@PunchlineGlos@rivercottage@StroudBrewery@HughFW Organic hops difficult to source? We have them in our garden. They come up every year, self-planted, disease-free in our Worcestershire garden.
If there are two things that you need to do today...this is one of them: #SaveSheffieldArchaeology@UniShefArch@ZooarchLabSheff
University of Sheffield: Save Sheffield's Archaeology Department - Sign the Petition! https://t.co/4D1eBuRoqS via @Change
Archaeology at Sheffield is under attack. We've made an information pack explaining what is happening and how you can help (including a petition, who you can email and a template letter to use) at https://t.co/aNn2bwZONZ
#SaveSheffieldArchaeology#ArchaeologistMadeInSheffield
As we continue fighting for Archaeology in Sheffield, let's recall that it's not the only UK department under threat. Chester is another one. There may be others. Let's hope that the whole archaeological community will show solidarity with all threatened departments/colleagues.
@SheffieldStar I graduated with a BA in Prehistory & Archaeology from Sheffield in 1978. This stood me in good stead for my subsequent career as a Museums Curator. This department is nationally & internationally important! Please save it!
A petition has been set up to save the University of Sheffield's Department of Archaeology, and the hashtag #SaveSheffieldArchaeology is trending https://t.co/qVaD9Plz2O
This is urgent! The Government wants to impose a catastrophic 50% funding cut to arts subjects at higher education (HE) level in England. I've joined the @Public_Campaign for the Arts to tell @GavinWilliamson: arts education matters. Will you join too? https://t.co/e6rqMp1a15
@uculsbu@ucu@UCULondon@LondonUCU@DrJoGrady This is terrible! How can a STEM only approach result in a dynamic, cross-disciplinary and innovative education? The removal of the MSc in Education for Sustainability is particularly puzzling.
