My husband attended the 2016 Nobel Laureate Conference in Lindau Germany. His takeaway was that even when a PI regretted the hours they were pressured to spend working, he still expected the same from his students. My husband left the field entirely soon after.

@uhhmmily I love learning about the psychology of murderers. What drove them to do it, etc? But I can't handle depictions of such violence. I couldn't get past S1 of Game of Thrones. It has become a flex to not be phased, and that started before this series.

1/ A thread on my recent experience of bullying by a senior academic at a conference, which included him telling me I should be 'ashamed', pointing his finger in my face and calling me a 'disgrace'.
