Becoming president of Upper Volta at only 33, Thomas Sankara renamed the country Burkina Faso (land of incorruptible people). He shunned foreign aid and embarked on Marxist reforms - building schools, hospitals, and including women... He led a tree planting campaign of over …

This morning at the @NUP_Ug office, we interacted with the wife and child of our comrade Haruna Lukyamuzi who was abducted on 14th April from Lubugumu, Ndejje and is still missing. According to the wife, his abductors called and lied to him that they had a job for him, and used that opportunity to take him away. He was held at Kibuye Police for three days. He was then released on police bond, but as he was getting out of the police, he was taken away by heavily armed men moving in a Mark X vehicle. Since then, his whereabouts remain unknown!
Our Legal and Human Rights desk has been following up his case from the time he was abducted but lacked sufficient details to pursue his case in court. Today his wife swore an affidavit that will be used to file a habeas corpus application for him. We are grateful to everyone who continues to demand for his release and indeed for the release of all missing NUP supporters. The criminal regime continues to abduct our people in order to intimidate, derail and silence voices of dissent. But we remain convinced they will account for each and every crime they have committed against our people.

This is comrade Haruna Lukyamuzi, aged 23. He was abducted by armed men on 14th April from Ndejje and he is still under incommunicado detention. The criminal regime continues to abduct and torture our people in order to drive the population into silence. They forget that repression only leads to more resistance. The people of Uganda will eventually speak out and speak very loud! For now, let us continue demanding for the unconditional release of all prisoners of conscience, including this brother Haruna!

It's now 11hrs since @HEBobiwine has not congratulated nor responded to @KagutaMuseveni for signing the bill. We need to know his stands as President of the Famous Political Party @NUP_Ug otherwise we may as well think he is great Supporter of LGBTQ. 🌈
With President KYAGULANYI in KYADONDO EAST earlier today. The PRESIDENT while addressing our people, among others condemned the now massive Institutional Corruption in Uganda & called for Criminal prosecution of all Government officials implicated in Karamoja, Mabaati.
The court hearing in jinja has been adjourned to the 8th (Wednesday) of this month. Their crime is supporting NUP and organizing a peaceful gathering. So sad.
SAD STORY ON FACES!! Their Father was Abducted by M7's lawlessness men from his place of work around Kampala because his crime was to support the change & Pres. @HEBobiwine it's almost 3yrs and all public efforts and time to discover his body or when still alive reached in vain.
Recently @DavidLRubongoya and myself met @StienekevdGraaf in the Dutch parliament and handed her the list of 1277 recent victims of the Ugandan dictatorship. We appreciate the @christenunie support for human rights in Uganda.
Today, our comrades who were arrested for attending a prayer event in Jinja two weeks back were in court. The 13 came with hope their bail application would be heard, but it wasn't. The matter was adjourned to Wed 8th. They were further remanded to Kirinya. The price of freedom!
