This daily press meeting President Trump uses to advance the proposition that his phantom negotiation with some obscure Iranians is just a day or two away from becoming a “good” deal is pitiful and embarrassing. Empty threats to bring down the military on obscure targets are not believed by anyone. Especially the Iranians. Trump seems unable to either talk softly or use his big stick.

There will be a vote in California that asks whether the government should take 5% of the wealth from some of the residents. Is there any doubt about the result of that vote? Not much. There is some doubt that many will remain in the state to submit to this wealth transfer and even less doubt that this is an idiotic proposal.
