@NickGibbsIAG I think youâll have to drink a lot of wine before the stock covers. I mean a lot of wine. I donât know if the oceans could fit the amount of wine you would need to drink for the stock to recover.
My therapist told me that
"There's a theory that depression is sometimes the soul's way of rejecting the life you're forcing yourself to live. It's not failure it's misalignment. Your spirit shuts down when you're too far from your purpose, people, or path." And then it all made sense.
Dillon has supported Tesla for more than a decade, which makes this a particularly important perspective heading into earnings tomorrow evening.
A thoughtful critique of how Tesla sets expectations and what repeated misses can do to investor confidence.
A month before her passing in 2017, Louise L. Hay wrote something that still resonates deeply:
âIâll be turning 90 this Saturday. My younger years were filled with fear, but now my days are filled with trust and confidence.
My life didnât really start to make sense until my mid-40s. At 50, I began writingâon a very small scale. My first year, I earned just \$42. At 55, I ventured into the world of computers, which terrified me, but I took classes and overcame my fears.
Today, I own three computers and travel everywhere with my iPad and iPhone. At 60, I planted my first garden. Around that time, I joined kidsâ art classes and started painting. In my 70s and 80s, I became even more creative, and my life just kept getting richer and more fulfilling.
I still write, give talks, and teach by example. Iâm always reading, learning, and growing. I run a successful publishing company and two nonprofits. Iâm an avid organic gardener and grow most of my own food. I love people and parties, have many loving friends, and have traveled the world. I still paint and take classes. My life has become a treasure trove of experiences.
I want to encourage you to consciously shape your later years and realize that they can be the most rewarding chapter of your life. Your future is always bright, no matter your age. Let these years become your treasure years.
With love,
Louise Hay

As usual, Dillon's take here is exactly on point. I'm a huge believer in the LT vision of the company and believe they will be wildly successful in time.
But TBH I don't trust management's commentary anymore. Way too many broken promises and missed deadlines.
With Tesla's Q2 earnings call this week, I'm sadly going in with much different expectations. I really don't know how much we can believe of what Tesla and Elon say
I'm only sharing this with the hope that Elon and Tesla will recalibrate and learn to underpromise and overperform rather than the opposite which creates new, unnecessary attack vectors and disillusionment of many Tesla fans and investors. If these goals are so uncertain, please just don't share them. Say whatever you want internally, but to say them publicly and not even get close does nothing but hurt the company and many following it
In just a few of the most recent calls Elon said the following:
Q2 '25: "I believe half of the population of the US will be covered by Tesla's Robotaxi by the end of the year."
Reality: not even close
Q3 '25: "We do expect to be operating robotaxi in, I think, about eight to ten metro areas by the end of the year."
Reality: 1
Q3 '25: "We expect to be operating in Nevada, Florida, and Arizona by the end of the year."
Reality: none
Q4 '25: "In terms of taxi vehicles carrying paid customers, I think we're well over 500 at this point between the Bay Area and Austin. This will probably double every month type of thing."
Reality: number largely stayed flat and Unsupervised is much smaller
I love Tesla and have been a superfan for well over a decade. I'm not here for short term $TSLA performance. But this is far more than just a one-off mistake or single moment of hubris. This is clearly a trend and as someone who holds Tesla to a higher standard, I'd love to see them do better with setting expectations. And further, if you do miss a timeline that was very public, communicating the reasons transparently would go a very long way to maintaining credibility going forward
My life got a lot better when I started viewing everything as rigged in my favor. Tragedy. Heartbreak. Victory. Risk. Devastation. Euphoria. Uncertainty. No matter what happened, I operated with a foundational belief that I would be fine either way. And magically, I was, once I started believe so.
self talk is everything
your subconscious is always listening, believes everything you tell yourself and will make it true
this is how the placebo effect works, it's how joe dispenza completely healed his spine with his mind, it's the secret behind greats.
no negative self talk at all costs.
this is the key to success and hapiness.
anxiety is a horrible use of your imagination.
letâs overthink the best case scenarios. letâs analyse every time you do a good thing. letâs obsess over the times we make someone laughs. your brain already has the skill, you just need to use it to create something beautiful. because you deserve beautiful things.
I came across a quote that said:
"You can seem like a millionaire to one person and a homeless person to the next. The ants think you are a giant, and the trees don't even notice you. You think you have a boring life, but the next person might be striving for your lifestyle. Comparison is the thief of joy, so stay kind and keep loving life. Life is all just a big game of perspective."

"Positive thinking is simply to think thoughts of what YOU want. The bride wants a sunny day but the farmer wants rain - just think positively about what YOU want!"
