Mental health can affect all aspects of your life. Take the time to take care of yourself and listen to others. Remember it’s okay to not be okay. This shouldn’t be just a one day reminder of mental health, incorporate it everyday. #BellLetsTalk#EndTheStigma
New therapists need to hear that clients *generally* won’t give a shit where you went to school, what your degree is in, or what literature you’ve read. They want to know: Can you help me? Do you understand me and my concerns? Will I feel accepted by you and comfortable with you?
During sessions, I take off my shoes and sit with my legs on the chair, with a blanket. I drink water and lattes and have snacks. I offer clients things too. I swear. I sometimes need to pause to pee. I have sessions in settings that aren't an office.
I'm still doing therapy.
You are not the best therapist.
That is ok.
You are not 100% prepared.
That is ok.
You cannot meet every expectation.
That is ok.
You have limits.
That is ok.
You are doing your best with what you have.
That is ok.
I forget this all the time.
That is ok.
forever grateful, this year and every year, that my family does not do a 5k, play touch football, or do any kind of physical activity whatsoever on thanksgiving
