Judgement only says:
"SC status is valid for Hindu, Buddhists, Sikhs"
Note:
1. There is nothing new in this judgement. This has been the rule, from 1990. Judgement only reiterated an existing rule.
2. There is no ruling on ST status.
ST category still include Christians & Muslims.
ST are excluded from UCC.
Did you know that many tribes under ST list are Muslims??
In Gujarat, there are many muslim tribes in ST list.
So now they will also be excluded from UCC.
Remember Payal Tadvi?
(Whose case was basis of UGC 2026)?
-She was muslim. From ST.
тА╝я╕ПUpdate on MP 73% Reservation CaseтА╝я╕П
A new petition was filed in Supreme Court, asking to allow 73% reservation!
However, Supreme Court has declined to entertain it.
What happened-
1. The honorable Supreme Court has already declined to allow 73% reservation & has transferred the case back to High Court (order dated 19.02.2026).
2. However, a new petition was pushed in Supreme Court asking to allow 73% reservation, through one Deepak Kumar Patel in SLP (C) 12398 of 2023.
3. General Category petitioners came to know of this petition, only at the last minute.
4. During the hearing, the counsels for General Category-Sr. Adv. Gopal Sankarnarayanan, Sr. Adv. Aprajita Singh, Adv. Pooja Dhar, Adv. Rahul Pratap were present and opposed lifting of stay of the HC order.
5. The Supreme Court declined to entertain the petition and just detagged the MP and Chhattisgarh matters.
6. So the HC stay of 73% reservation continues.
From this incident, it appears like the objective of MP govt seems to be to not allow the final hearing by all means, & to get the stay of 73% reservation removed, somehow.
A big big thanks a lot for all our counsels, who are constantly working on the case & fighting for the rights of general category ЁЯЩП
