Congratulations on your extraordinary retirement, coach Hamilton! It's been an absolute privilege to play for a legendary coach like you these last 4 years. Coach concluded 31-year career with an incredible winning record of 291-74 in his 31 seasons coaching Unity, taking us to an unprecedented 6 state championship games in 2005, 2009, 2012, 2015, and 2021. Thank you for allowing myself and my teammates to be your last senior class.

You've truly left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come. They always say leave the place better than what it was when you arrived, and you've exceeded that in every way. You've been more than just a mentor, you've always treated your players like family, providing guidance, support, and encouragement every step of the way. I truly hope you enjoy your retirement. I know not only myself but many others can count on you for advice and guidance for anything that we need in life. You built more than our program! You built one of the biggest football families in central Illinois, a testament to your dedication, passion, and commitment to excellence.

We may have lost in the semifinals last night, but what a journey it has been. I know many people have feelings about how the last play went, but that's football. It was a memorable play that will stay with us forever. Four years of high school football have flown by, filled with incredible experiences. We had one state championship game, two semifinal appearances, and a quarterfinals appearance, which says something. Although we may not have won the state championship, we've always been contenders.

Like most seniors, I will miss playing high school football with my teammates. There's nothing like it. I'll especially miss playing with Garrett Richardson and Kalen Shoot. We started off as three lone freshmen on varsity, loving every minute of playing time we could get, and now we've become team leaders. We've been lucky enough to be part of a great program. There's no doubt that Dane Eisenmenger, Tre Hoggard, Crewe Eckstein, Coleson Miller, and Coleton Langendorf, along with the rest of the junior class, will continue the great tradition of Unity football. I'll go from being a teammate to their biggest fan.

Lastly, I'd like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Coach Hamilton, an extraordinary mentor who treated his players like family, and Coach Reetz, who helped me become a better lineman and patiently answered my countless questions about why we do things the way we do. Most importantly, I'm deeply indebted to my parents, without them none of this would have been possible. As I wonder whether my football journey has come to an end or if this is merely another chapter in my journey, I'm excited to shift my focus to wrestling season, and I'm counting on Hunter Eastin and Ryan Rink to help carry me to a team wrestling state championship.

I had a great time practicing with my lineman while we were preparing for Monticello in the snow today. There is nothing like high school football in November. Two more days until the semi-finals!

Man, I love my teammates! This was my last home game at Hicks Field, and I'm so happy we got the win today. Our playoff run continues into the semifinals against a strong Monticello team, who I'm sure will be looking to revenge their loss against us earlier this season.

That's one for the good guys. It was a chippy game, but that's what local rivalry games are all about. St Joe was a great team. On to Nashville next game

Great game today, boys! Our offense and defense played great. The scoreboard doesn't reflect that we pulled starters for other players. They earned those late-game reps, and I'm glad they played. Now we're set for a rematch with St. Joe, who beat us with a field goal with only seconds left earlier this season to win by 1 point.
