Jaden Dene

[Jaden Dene @jadenldene]

After careful consideration, I am happy to announce my commitment to play Division II football at McKendree University while continuing my academic journey, with the hopes of becoming a Conservation Officer one day. First, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my parents for always believing and supporting me with unconditional love, which has enabled me to achieve many of my goals. I would like to thank Coach Yates, my youth football coach, who helped inspire me to become a law enforcement officer one day. Thank you, Coach Hamilton and Coach Reetz, and the rest of the Rocket family, for allowing me to be part of this incredible program and helping me develop into the player I am today. To Coach Patton, I am grateful for your guidance and mentorship over the last couple of years. Lastly, I would like to extend my gratitude to Coach Rejfek and Coach Holeton, as well as the rest of the McKendree coaching staff, for offering me this great opportunity. It is an honor and privilege for me. I look forward to getting down there and getting to work.

I may not be a Patton Trained guy, but I'm a Logan Patton guy. Thanks for letting me come roll with you guys during winter break so I could stay in shape. It's still hard to believe that I was a state wrestler.

Congratulations on your extraordinary retirement, coach Hamilton! It's been an absolute privilege to play for a legendary coach like you these last 4 years. Coach concluded 31-year career with an incredible winning record of 291-74 in his 31 seasons coaching Unity, taking us to an unprecedented 6 state championship games in 2005, 2009, 2012, 2015, and 2021. Thank you for allowing myself and my teammates to be your last senior class.

You've truly left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come. They always say leave the place better than what it was when you arrived, and you've exceeded that in every way. You've been more than just a mentor, you've always treated your players like family, providing guidance, support, and encouragement every step of the way. I truly hope you enjoy your retirement. I know not only myself but many others can count on you for advice and guidance for anything that we need in life. You built more than our program! You built one of the biggest football families in central Illinois, a testament to your dedication, passion, and commitment to excellence.
