Progressives seize on the differences in income to assume it is due to some kind of class warfare, when it is mostly personal choices and the rewards of creating new machines and new wealth for everyone. Progressives then ask the government to control everyone's choices in order to transfer wealth from the mostly hard working, honest and productive citizens to all those who prefer leisure, wasteful consumption and bad health habits --and whose votes can be bought with promises of easy living off other peoples money.

https://t.co/fAqMnTTOqF very entertaining colloquy poking fun at Hinduism's complex doctrines.  .  It is  fairly accurate on Hinduism except for the actor's very limited knowledge.    I would make a few comments, if you would like a different perspective from my own research and experience.

If we step away from the "contest" between Hinduism and Christianity,or any major religions, we can appreciate the similarities and cultural differences as positives. For me all religions reinforce each other at the highest level of understanding and insight that goes beyond the cultural and popular aspects of each faith.

At the highest level , many theologians accept the similarities between world religions, especially at their more transcendent, less literal, materialistic levels.  Notice the Trimurti is  similar to the Trinity.  Christians honor God in three different personages or aspects, just like Hindus.  Likewise,  Hindu gods are similar to the arch angels and saints.

The New Testament was,  in my opinion and that of many historians ,  an effort to bring the more important message of love and forgiveness to the tribalistic culture of the Old Testament.  It was time to graduate to a loving God, with monogamy and separation of church and state.  More like Hinduism or Buddhism than Judaism.

Sadly The Romans made Christianity the state religion .  It became a matter of governance and power leading to corruption and stagnation.  So we had a dark age for about 800 years.

Jesus spoke of reincarnation and even karma (positively and negatively) , which ideas were later suppressed by the church.  The more transcendent, spiritual messages of Jesus were contained in the Gnostic Gospels, likie Thomas, which were also forbidden and destroyed around the empire.   Those 30 or 40 gospels were excluded from the Bibile.

The ignorant church leaders misinterpreted Jesus as a unique son of god, because at the time that was true in Israel.  But on a global scale and over time, there are many wise teachers and saviors.

Christianity is again opening to other religions on a friendly basis as shown by the Popes, and ArchBishop meeting with  Dalai Lama, Imams, etc,   Psychologists like Jung are combining Christianity with brain science, ideas from the ancient wisdom of the East and our own Greek philosophers for a new global, universal paradigm.  It makes more sense to me than being limited to the one visit of Jesus 2,000 years ago to a tiny country like Israel that was under great stress.  People were hoping for a liberation from the Roman Empire as well as a spiritual renewal of hope and love.  That was the focus of Jesus' short, 3 year, ministry.  By contrast Buddha also taught a higher form of his religion for nearly 50 years.  Jesus may well have studied Buddhism in Syria and Egypt, if not India.

All I really know is:  That prayer and love bring healing and happiness;  There is a consciousness that can survive the body.  That consciousness is very similar  in 13 million near death experiences.  There are 3,300 or more scientifically verified, corroborated reports of people remembering details of previous lives.  That is just from Professor Ian Stevenson's decades of work with a team of researchers.
