@hugabug_lab @doubleanders I think this is well beyond average. I've only worked in uncharacterized systems, and well resourced labs, but have never had more than triplicates unless a time series. Database mining in my experience, as the paper mentions, showed there's numerous single sample metag projects.

@hugabug_lab It sounded like the paper focused on large experiments being overly efficient with compute resources, but also labs with fewer resources might not be able to acquire replicates. I'd imagine that most people would assume single mapping is better than none?
