Gen Z or anyone else who goes for a holiday to J&K, Ladakh, North East etc must know...

It is a *strategically sensitive region* where tourism exists alongside security,

*not the other way around!!*

Military convoys do not roll because some officer woke up that morning and thought,

*“Let us ruin somebody’s holiday...”*

Movements are planned.
Routes are coordinated.
Timings matter.
Logistics matter.

*The mountains are not merely a backdrop for photographs.*

Those mountains have names written into military history.

*SOLDIERS FOUGHT THERE.… MANY OF THEM PAID THE ULTIMATE PRICE*

527 soldiers gave their lives capturing the Kargil heights so that you can move there freely.

And all these 527 were also Gen Z*

And soldiers *still serve there*.

Do not stand in front of a soldier and say:

*“I PAY YOUR SALARY.”*

No - the belief that money paid to the Republic somehow places the Republic’s uniform beneath you… is totally wrong.

*IT DOESN’T.*

Paying income tax does not give you command authority over the Armed Forces.

And that certainly does not make national security subordinate to your holiday plans.

You waited few hours.

*Somebody else stood watch for months.*

You missed part of an itinerary.

*Somebody else missed birthdays, anniversaries, children growing up, and home.*

And while you eventually drove away from Kargil,

*HE STAYED.*

So no.

*You do not pay his salary.*

*You pay your taxes.*

*The soldier pays his own taxes and also pays for your security:*

*IN A CURRENCY FAR MORE EXPENSIVE THAN MONEY.*

ARMY MAN ATTACKED: NHAI SILENT

On 17 Aug night at Bhuni Toll Plaza, Meerut, @adgpi Army Sepoy Kapil while heading back for his duty was mistreated & beaten up by Hooligans

Instead of giving respect, the toll staff snatched his Identity Card & mobile

On protesting, Sepoy Kapil was brutally beaten up & had to be later taken to hospital with injuries

FIR has now been registered. Meerut Police have arrested only four of the hooligans, search is on for the rest.
Army has also taken serious note

If a uniformed soldier can be insulted and thrashed at a toll, then where is the respect for the Armed Forces?
And what safety is left for the common citizen?
Toll plazas cannot be allowed to run like dens of gundas anymore.
Action must be swift and tough

The Army officer had a medical emergency at his home, he got emergency leave. Staff did not only misbehave but they closed the boarding gate without taking him in for a hand baggage which was cleared by the check in counter. His flight missed, and he did in anger what he should not have.

SpiceJet in particular has been the flag bearer of this crooked behaviour. They are cutting costs on ground staff, allowing bags heavier than 7 kg to be carried as hand baggage.

It's a prevalent scene. Suddenly, when they want to make money, they will start charging extra for the same baggage that has been cleared earlier, and this is not new; this has been happening for a long time.

Local staff there have harassed many army officers and soldiers earlier also, but none spoke about it, and I'm sure even this officer would not have reacted too if he did not have to got to attend family medical emergency.

But those people who are defending SpiceJet staffs would have been outraged on social media and would have trended #BoycottSpiceJet had it happened to them.

+ I can see lots of political stooges, who questioned the armed forces during Operation Sindoor, are now targeting the army officer because they have got the chance.

So many people are ranting here, but none stood for the army officers when:

1. Recently Col PS Bath was assaulted in Patiala; not a single police officer was arrested. (HC handed over the case to CBI now.)
2. When Lt. Col. was slapped in front of his wife and daughter in Lucknow, the ASI was not arrested yet.
3. When Capt and his wife were assaulted by police in Odisha, there was no outrage (the High Court had to intervene and rap up the police.)
4. When a soldier in Rajasthan was brutally assaulted by police, there was no outrage.
5. In Jamakhandi, Karnataka, 9 Para SF troopers were jailed. Even the Army, under the provisions of Section 104 of the Army Act, 1950, formally sought military custody of Ptr Abhimanyu on the 19th of March 2025 but was rejected.

All these cases have happened in the last year.
