Kaduna Update: Kaduna State Governor, Senator @ubasanius, CON, is attending the National Assembly Open Week as a special guest of honor.
Drawing from his hands-on experience leading Kaduna State through a period of significantly improved security, and his legislative background as the sponsor of the historic state policing bill, His Excellency will feature as a key panelist at the "National Security Roundtable." He is set to share vital perspectives on regional safety, legislative backing, and the future of state policing in Nigeria.
It was a privilege to deliver the keynote address and participate in the panel discussion at the National Security Roundtable on Constitutional Reform and the Establishment of State Police Services, organised by the National Assembly Library Trust Fund in Abuja. The Roundtable brought together an eminent gathering of security practitioners, legislators, constitutional scholars, policymakers and other distinguished stakeholders to deliberate on one of the most consequential institutional reforms before our nation. At a time when Nigeria's security challenges are becoming increasingly complex and multidimensional, such thoughtful engagement is essential to shaping a constitutional and institutional framework that is both responsive to present realities and resilient enough to meet future demands.
In my keynote address, I reaffirmed my support for the establishment of State Police as a vital component of a more effective and responsive national security architecture. I stressed, however, that the success of this reform will depend not merely on constitutional amendment, but on building institutions anchored on professionalism, accountability, operational independence and robust constitutional safeguards.
I emphasised that State Police should complement, not replace, the Nigeria Police Force, with both institutions operating within a coordinated framework founded on collaboration, intelligence sharing and clearly defined constitutional responsibilities. I also underscored the imperative of nationally benchmarked recruitment and training standards, technology-driven policing, independent oversight and sustainable funding.
Drawing from our experience in Kaduna State, I observed that lasting security is built through trust, dialogue, inclusion, community partnership and intelligence-led policing. I remain convinced that a carefully designed State Police system will deepen federalism, strengthen democratic governance and significantly enhance the protection of lives and property across our country.

KADUNA IS NOT WAITING FOR THE FUTURE, WE ARE BUILDING IT- THE LIGHT RAIL PROJECT.
The Signature of Leadership That Delivers
While others debate, Uba Sani is building.
Kaduna is on track to become the first state in Northern Nigeria to deliver a Light Rail system, a bold, transformative project that speaks louder than politics.
On April 30, 2026, the Federal Executive Council approved the Kaduna Light Rail Project: a 50km metropolitan network worth about ₦1 trillion, connecting Rigachikun to Sabon Tasha and Millennium City to Rigasa.
This is not propaganda. This is progress.
Kaduna now stands shoulder to shoulder with Lagos as one of the only states in Nigeria investing in modern rail transport. That is not coincidence, it is leadership.
What does this mean for the people?
No more wasted hours in traffic
Workers, students, traders, your time matters. This rail will move you faster, cheaper, and more reliably.
Real jobs, not empty promises
Thousands of jobs, from construction sites to control rooms, creating opportunities for Kaduna’s youth and professionals.
Less traffic, safer roads
Fewer vehicles. Less chaos. More order. A city that works.
Economic explosion along the corridors
Every station becomes a marketplace of opportunity. Businesses will grow. Commerce will expand. Wealth will circulate.
Property and investment boom
Where the rail goes, development follows. Kaduna is opening new frontiers for investors and homeowners.
Cleaner, healthier environment
Less fuel. Less pollution. A smarter, greener Kaduna.
And this is just one piece.
With the ongoing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), road expansions, and rural connectivity projects, Kaduna is building a complete, modern transport ecosystem, not for headlines, but for generations.
The difference is clear:
Some governed with noise.
This administration governs with results.
Kaduna people can see it. They can feel it. They benefit from it.
The choice ahead is simple, sustain the momentum or return to the past.
Stand with progress. Stand with continuity.
Kaduna is not slowing down. Kaduna is moving forward.

The People's Governor: Simplicity in Action
Governor @ubasanius simplicity and inclusive leadership are exactly why the people of Kaduna State hold him in such high regard. He doesn't just govern from behind a desk, he meets people right where they are, bringing real development
I have Kept My Promise To Ham People—Uba Sani
Governor @ubasanius has broken a 20-year old jinx in Jaba local government, with the commissioning of five township roads in Kwoi, the headquarter of the Area Council.
The Governor recalled that when he performed the ground breaking ceremony last September, he assured that the intervention would not be another promise deferred.
‘’By the grace of God and through the dedication of our team, we have returned to redeem that pledge. Nothing strengthens the bond between a government and its people more than promises fulfilled,’’ he noted.
Last Tuesday, Governor Uba Sani commissioned the Audu Tilo Road, Sabon Gari Road, Doctor Sani Road, Hospital Road and Kpop Ham Palace Road, as well as the strategic Kwoi–Gora Road.
The Governor lamented that ‘’for well over two decades, Jaba Local Government Area did not witness the construction of a single completed kilometre of road.
‘’It was among the 12 Local Governments that were neglected in terms of road construction. Such imbalance was inconsistent with the principles of fairness, equity and justice upon which enduring development must rest,’’ he argued.
Governor Uba Sani noted that his administration is determined to reverse that history, adding that it has ‘’ pursued an infrastructure agenda deliberately designed to ensure that development reaches every part of Kaduna State.’’
‘’Across our twenty-three Local Government Areas, we have initiated 150 road projects covering more than 1,355 kilometres, with the overwhelming majority already completed,’’ he disclosed.
The Governor further said that ‘’these projects represent far more than completed infrastructure; they are enduring symbols of our resolve to ensure that no community is excluded from the dividends of democratic governance.’’
According to him, his administration’s philosophy is that ‘’government must not be defined by geography, politics or identity, but by fairness in the allocation of opportunities and public investment.’’
Governor Uba Sani reminded that the Kwoi township roads and the Kwoi-Gora road are strategic investments in the economic and social life of Jaba community.
‘’They will improve mobility within Kwoi, facilitate access to schools and healthcare facilities, strengthen commercial activity, ease transportation for farmers and traders,’’ he noted.
The Governor also recalled that the Kwoi–Gora Road ‘’was synonymous with hardship, particularly during the rainy season when erosion and poor road conditions disrupted movement, isolated communities, increased transportation costs and hindered access to essential services.’’
‘’Today, that difficult chapter has been replaced by new opportunities. This road will strengthen social and economic interactions, improve emergency response, facilitate agricultural transportation and open wider prospects for investment across Jaba Local Government Area,’’ he added.
