🚨🗣️ Ange Postecoglou: “My view is that Manchester United is the HARDEST job in world football.
“The scrutiny that the club has, and the spotlight it’s constantly under, beholden to the history it has, it’s going to take a UNIQUE individual to be able to overcome.” #MUFC [@WeAreTheOverlap]
So Michael Carrick has beaten the top two managers in the Premier League in Pep Guardiola + Mikel Arteta.
Now two candidates for the #MUFC job in May 2024 in Marco Silva + Thomas Frank.
Also two clean sheets in four games, after two in 23 for United this season beforehand.
Raheem Sterling has been one of the best players of his generation, ten major trophies & over eighty England caps. Don’t let recency bias fool you that he wasn’t!

🚨 BREAKING: Harry Cobden has been officially announced as JP McManus's new number one rider in Britain and Ireland, with the former champion jockey's new role to begin in May
So what will Ruben Amorim do now? Smash the system for good? Many Manchester United supporters saying it for ages: players better suited to a back-four not 3-4-3. Club tradition about solid defence, back-four, and proper width with wingers. Not wing-backs. Wing-backs are an affront to United's great heritage (and to the strengths of their current personnel). And Luke Shaw is not a left-sided centre-back; he’s a good full-back.
Amorim been tweaking HIS system recently. Starting a back-four against Newcastle United signals a less stubborn streak. Pope and hope. Heaven and Martinez impressed. But where does this leave De Ligt? And Yoro is certainly not a right-back.
First half United attacked well, and quickly. Dorgu far better wide right. They fought hard. The kids will develop. Amorim twisted again during the game (and not to great effect - plus questionable subs and Newcastle wasteful). But they clung on to important three points. Just need to work on a system that clearly suits them better and offload the likes of Zirkzee.
Amorim is a good head coach and enjoys the backing of the board. Let’s hope he gives back-four a chance, wingers a chance and so gives United a chance. #MUFC
🥳 Well that was a joy to watch. Such a thrill to see SIR GINO make a winning return to action after injury has kept him away from the racetrack. Our 14th win in the Christmas Hurdle!
Ruben Amorim: “I have the feeling that if we have to play a perfect 3-4-3, we need to spend a lot of money + time. I’m starting to understand that is not going to happen, so maybe I have to adapt.”
