Excellent work by Nick Delehanty (we just didn't have the capacity here) who has unearthed 184 work permits attributable to the pair behind the company which had crammed 34 beds into a bungalow to house non-EU workers.

This is what the enterprise minister Peter Burke below is signing off on every day. He has no idea where the workers will be accommodated or under what conditions, but he does know there is a severe housing shortage and he is signing off on 3,000+ non-EU work permits per month. Reckless.

When Stuart Pearce signed for West Ham in the summer of 1999, he was 37 years old and had just spent months being frozen out at Newcastle.

Harry Redknapp still wanted him.

Pearce went straight into the team, and only a few weeks later he was recalled by England for the European Championship qualifier in Poland.

That match took place on the Wednesday night.

Two days later, he was back at Upton Park playing against Watford.

During the first half, Pearce went into a challenge with Micah Hyde and immediately felt something go in his left leg.

He knew it was bad.

For the final ten minutes of the half, he kept trying to run on it, telling himself he might be able to loosen it up and carry on.

By the time the whistle went, the leg was getting worse.

Pearce went into the dressing room and sat down with the rest of the players.

The West Ham doctor looked at him and told him what had happened.

“Stuart, you’ve broken your leg.”

Pearce still put his boot back on.

He wanted to go out for the second half.

Harry Redknapp had to stop him.

“He tried to come back at half-time.”

“But there was no way.”

Pearce had fractured his left fibula and was expected to be out until January.

Five months later, Pearce returned for West Ham.

Within weeks, he broke the same leg again.

This time he was carried off against Southampton after getting across to block a shot from Hassan Kachloul.

Pearce was almost 38, and his contract was due to expire at the end of the season.

He thought his career might be over.

But Redknapp went to see him and told him West Ham would wait.

“We’ll stick by you.”

“Get yourself right, and there’ll be a new contract here for you.”

The following season, he played 42 games, scored three goals and was voted Hammer of the Year by the West Ham supporters.

Yet IPAS has used a loophole under emergency procedures to award billions in accommodation contracts without open tendering.

We built an entire bureaucracy to stop cronyism, but then created a side door.

IPAS is the greatest public-spending scandal in the history of the State.

They are making fortunes while hiding behind the plight of asylum seekers.

Ireland’s Childcare Crisis

A few facts:

Between 2020 and 2025, more than €8 billion was allocated to the Department of Children.

Most of this money went towards migrant hotels that operate at 50%+ profit margin.

Companies linked to Séamus “Banty” McEnaney and his family have reportedly received more than €300million.

Since 2016, Ireland’s last three Ministers for Children have not had children themselves.

The Govt promised to reduce full-time childcare fees to approximately €200 per month. Delivering that commitment is estimated to require an additional €300 to €500 million per year.

Ireland currently allocates approximately:

€1.5 billion a year to childcare

Which is half the amount, €3 billion, they allocate to asylum, refugee and Ukrainian-related accommodation and supports

Normal people have no idea how badly our finances are being run.

🚨 Understand that UCD defender Eanna Clancy is set to sign for Dutch side VVV-Venlo.

Despite attracting interest from a number of League of Ireland Premier Division clubs, Clancy has opted to make the move to the Netherlands in what is viewed as an excellent step for his long-term development.
