Today, another Ukrainian child was murdered by russia.

A russian guided aerial bomb killed 9th-grade student Oleksandra Maretska in Kherson.

She was the heart of her class. An outstanding student. She dreamed of a peaceful future.

Just one week earlier, russia killed another student from the same lyceum, Svitlana Pieshyk, in a drone strike.

Two schoolgirls.
Two stolen futures.
One terrorist state.

How many more Ukrainian children must russia murder before the world takes action?

I already know the answer.

That’s a misunderstanding of evolution. We also evolved to make glucose, cholesterol, uric acid, insulin, and body fat. The fact that your body makes something doesn’t mean more is always better.

Saturated fat isn’t an essential nutrient—we can synthesize all we need. In contrast, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are essential because we can’t make them.

Saturated fats are important components of cell membranes, but membrane function depends on the balance of saturated and unsaturated fats. Too much saturation decreases membrane fluidity, which can alter receptor function, insulin signaling, and lipid metabolism.

Evolution didn’t optimize us for unlimited butter and ribeyes. It optimized us to survive periods of feast and famine. Modern nutrition is about what promotes the best long-term health, not simply what our metabolism is capable of doing.

I stood 5 feet from @MarkJCarney tonight as he delivered a masterful speech. A he does.

His eyes were empty from exhaustion, I would guess, as he started his probably 10th speech of the day and he had juts traversed the globe from Turkey and I think the Middle East.

By the middle, he was revitalized,firm, and a bit fierce as he delivered a most optimistic vision for Canada, but you can see the worry and not help but sense that his own exhaustion comes from real urgency and concern.

We live in a world where I feel the enemy is partisanship and the antidote is citizenry. I think most Canadians share this perspective.

I so desperately hope we can quickly know that the latter always shapes the former, and not the other way around.

Russia killed Ukrainian volunteer Olha Kuzmenko, along with the animals Olha was caring for.

Olha chose to stay in the frontline town of Druzhkivka, Donetsk region. She refused to leave because of the animals - Olha spent her days feeding them and helping with their evacuation to safer areas.

Yesterday, while Olha was feeding the animals, a Russian guided aerial bomb hit the area and killed Olha along with them.

RIP, Olha. We are losing our best people.
