Today, our Rape Gang Inquiry brought over sixty survivors and whistleblowers to Westminster.

An incredibly emotional experience.

It's all very well reading these stories on social media and in the papers, but to meet these people and hear directly how their lives have been torn apart? In such numbers?

To listen to it all is not easy, genuinely not easy.

I want to thank every single person who made the effort to come to Parliament today. Your voice was heard in Westminster, I promise you that. And that has not happened in a long, long time...

And let's be clear what's happened here.

Thousands and thousands of white working class girls were raped and exploited by predominately gangs of Pakistani men. All over the UK. For decades.

I want to thank every MP that made the effort to come and speak with the survivors.

We had a good number of Conservatives, two Labour MPs, two Plaid MPs and two independents attending - a small number of others from those, and Northern Irish, parties gave their apologies.

Every MP was invited.

No Lib Dems attended, no Reform, no Greens, no SNP.

I know how much it meant to the survivors to have so many parliamentarians coming to hear their stories.

It matters.

Survivors have been lied to, again and again by politicians. Promised that their stories matter and that it won't just fade away. And what happens? It fades away.

Every single time.

We will not let that happen this time. I promise you that.

There is a long way to go, but today was an important step.

I want to say thank you to the Rape Gang Inquiry team, and it is a team effort. Sammy, Nat and everyone else.

We must keep going.

And above all else?

Thank you to the survivors for their courage and bravery.

It really does matter, and it really does make a difference.

Let's keep pushing.

- Requested $3,500 for a hotel. “I called the conference. They said the rates are $249 a night”
- Registration fees are $1,070. She requested $1,700

Now multiply this times probably every mid level government employee doing this same thing nationwide
