A basic understanding of a company’s portfolio and the infrastructure within their footprint (pipelines/LDCs) can put you head and shoulders above the competition.
There is a ton of publicly available information out there that a NG scheduler & cash trader can access. To be successful you need to be resourceful & take initiative.

It’s winter, and that means it’s time for pipeline CUTS.
A nat gas scheduler needs to understand their pipeline contract rights. They need to keep an eye on restrictions - also operational capacity to see if new restrictions are looming.

1/2:
A good trader will say, “let me check with my scheduler,” before selling into a constrained area.
A great NG scheduler will know their contract rights and restrictions - what will flow and what won’t (and how to bypass restrictions).

For today’s EIA #Natgas Storage Report for Nov 5-11, I am projecting a +62 BCF injection, the final build of the season. Such an injection would be 67 BCF bearish vs the 5-yr avg, 39 BCF larger than last year, and easily the single largest build for the week in the last 5 years.
#natgas final @EIAgov storage estimates
Analytix = +64
The Desk Survey = +63
ICE Storage Future Settle = +65
Bloomberg Survey/Whisper = +66/+65
I'll be on https://t.co/agOJegtRFj in the natgas channel at 10am EST to discuss the report before and after. Join me.

My experience centers around serving customers and managing risk - from retail customers to power plants.
But I’ve seen many entry level candidates arrive at interviews unprepared in even the basics. My goal is to help, so I’ll be posting here on occasion. Thank you.
