@TheLeisureProf I would also argue how often you visit shapes your opinion of the park. If I go every 2 years, I’m going to prioritize every other park. If I’m local, I would visit it much more often.

Appointments, extracurriculars, carpools, social activities, memory making, housekeeping chores, meal planning and prep, plus everything any individual is responsible for for themselves. Multiply by number of children. It’s not just snacks and water. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Much of the “mental load” mothers have is due to coddling their children. “Better pack everything!” Or else what? The kids won’t die if they don’t have immediate access to bottled water and snacks. It’s not a big deal. My goodness.
