This week at Commando Joe’s, we continued to work as gladiators! 🛡️ In teams, we retrieved food supplies to gain the energy needed to survive our missions. Through these challenges, we developed resilience, positivity, and perseverance. 💪 #TheGatesCommandoJoes

In Reading this week, we learned about David Attenborough ahead of his 100th birthday. We learned lots of facts and plotted them on a timeline. #TheGatesReading

In Year 4 DT, we experimented with making series and parallel circuits whilst also creating two different switches. At the end of the lesson, we evaluated which which would be the best for the night lamps we’re making. #TheGatesDT

In Y4 Music we kicked off our new unit, “Mamma Mia”! 🎶 We loved learning about ABBA and listening to and appraising a range of their songs. To finish, we explored finding the pulse of the song and started learning verses 1 & 2! #TheGatesMusic

In Science this week, we explored different electrical components used in circuits. We learned how to draw circuit diagrams before working in pairs to investigate and build our own. #TheGatesScience

Like true gladiators in the arena, our children showed resilience, courage and self-awareness in their first Commando Joe’s session this term. Led by our corporals, they battled through an assault course with determination ready to rise to any challenge!

Doves had a super afternoon today with a Lancashire cricket coach. We first practiced our bowling and then our batting skills through some drills. We then put this all together with some matches at the end! 🏏☀️🕊️

In @CommandoJoes this week, we were tasked with the mission of relaying messages. We worked in teams to ensure the correct message was replicated and passed on. This task required lots of teamwork and effective communication! #TheGatesCommandoJoes

Our Mini-Police team were out in action yesterday on Chorley Road, supporting a speed deterrent operation alongside local officers! Every member had a chance to use the police speed gun, explore the speed van and even meet some special visitors! #roadsafety
