If the Supreme Court strikes down the ACA, 1.7+ million Oregonians with preexisting conditions will face higher costs & fewer benefits, if they can get coverage at all. These are the very real stakes around the Barrett nomination & GOP’s attacks on our health care. #WhatsAtStake
The more I investigate the people behind “Sound of Freedom” the more I’m concerned that they created a propaganda film to cover up their own crimes.
Tim Ballard admits to watching “thousands of hours” of ILLEGAL child sexual abuse material (CSAM). I have questions:
—Where is Tim Ballard’s very large collection of CSAM?
—Who is storing Tim Ballard’s CSAM?
—Where does Tim Ballard watch thousands of hours of CSAM?
—Does Tim Ballard share illegal CSAM with any of his operatives, friends, producers, funders or performers, a number of whom are accused of child sex crimes?
—Does law enforcement, @FBI, @DOJCrimDiv oversee Tim Ballard’s large CSAM collection?
—If Tim Ballard “can’t watch” his own movie, why is he encouraging as many people as possible to watch it for free?
I sincerely hope @TheJusticeDept is looking into the network behind this film. Follow the money.
While it is true that some Jews may have used their skills or usefulness to increase their chances of survival during the Holocaust, it is essential to contextualize this statement properly and understand that it does not represent the complex history of the genocide perpetrated by Nazi Germany.
Viktor Frankl's observation about the specific situation in Auschwitz, which at some point became a camp that connected the functions of a concentration camp and extermination center and where deported Jews went through the selection process, highlights how some Jews became registered prisoners and might have used their skills to gain favor or prolong their lives in that particular setting. Yet, it never gave them complete protection.
However, we must not overlook the larger picture of the Holocaust. Nazi Germany's ultimate goal was to exterminate all the people it considered Jews (Nazis created their racial definition of a Jewish person). Millions of Jews were brutally murdered in execution sites, mainly across the east of occupied Europe, with entire communities wiped out regardless of their usefulness or contributions to society. While some of the ghettos seemed to have the goal of being productive and Jews were used as slave labor there, being "useful" did not guarantee safety, as the Nazis eventually decided to liquidate them, leading to the murder of those considered valuable as well.
There were no selections in extermination camps, such as Treblinka or Sobibor, and almost all deported Jews were murdered upon arrival, irrespective of any perceived usefulness. Being skilled or useful did not spare them from the horrors of the gas chambers.
Furthermore, during the final stages of the Holocaust, as the Nazi system was collapsing, concentration camp prisoners were evacuated to shrinking camp systems, resulting in the death of many. In these circumstances, being useful did not offer protection either.
Therefore, while it is accurate to acknowledge that some Jews may have survived temporarily due to their perceived usefulness, it is crucial to remember that the Holocaust was a systematic genocide with the ultimate aim of exterminating the entire Jewish population. It would be more appropriate to say that some Jews survived the Holocaust because they were considered temporarily useful, and the circumstances of the Nazi regime's collapse prevented their murder. We should avoid such oversimplifications in talking about this complex tragic story.

...through today-if you won't teach it, then *you* hate America. You cant change history & claim you love the country. It's only though facing what we were that we can see how we got here & where we still have to go.
And that seems to scare conservatives more than anything.

For all the scolding of the left for calling SCOTUS illegitimate (which it is), let the record reflect that the first people to openly defy a ruling by it are…the GOP-controlled state legislatures of Alabama, who are refusing to redraw maps to better represent black constituents
Sure, there are a lot of men who are awful, but a lot of people in general are awful. We just live in a world where awful can find an audience of support easier than a community to grow and heal.
Awful gets the validation that healing doesn't.
The “protect our kids” party is giving First graders in states like Florida panic attacks for bringing books to school to read that haven’t been “approved” by the school. This is their idea of “freedom.” It’s fascism.
I brought my dog in a bag on the subway today. Sat next to an older Chinese couple. The man starts giving him pats and scritches, delighted. Then he takes out his phone, types into his translator app, and flashes me the screen. It read: EVERYWHERE I GO DOGS LOVE ME THE MOST

On May 24, 2022 in Uvalde Texas, an 18 year old walked into Robb Elementary School and shot and killed 19 children and 2 adults.
Two days ago in Houston Texas, a man paused his dinner date to shoot and kill a fake parking attendant.
Last night in Cleveland Texas, 5 members of a family (including an 8 year old child) were shot and killed by their neighbor after they asked him to stop firing his gun on his front lawn so their baby could sleep.
So when Republican lawmakers in a state where it’s easier to get AR-15s than books about Black history say their abortion ban is about being “pro-life”…
They’re full of shit.
Over $10 million in "commissions" from elite law firms paid to Jane Roberts—the wife of Chief Justice John Roberts—for placing lawyers at firms and corporations, some with business in front of the Supreme Court.
It's corruption, plain and simple.

5/AI translation is literally costing people their asylum. Machine translations of Pashto and Dari, are riddled with errors that have introduced confusion into already complex immigration processes, and led to the rejected asylum claim of at least one Afghan refugee.
In small towns across America, kids are crawling under parked train cars to get to school on time.
Trains are blocking roads to schools for hours or even days at a time.
And they could start moving at any moment.
