Do you still remember Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya?
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya is enduring one of the most horrific forms of detention and torture inside Israeli occupation prisons, under brutal conditions and ongoing violations against him.
According to a statement by Physicians for Human Rights, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya met with his lawyer this week and reported that prison guards continue to beat and threaten him because he speaks about the conditions of his detention and what he is being subjected to inside the prison.
According to the organization’s statement and his lawyer’s account, the guards beat him on different parts of his body, including sensitive areas, using their hands, feet, and batons.
He also reported that they deliberately deprive him of sleep by creating noise and playing loudspeakers throughout the night, in an attempt to exhaust him physically and psychologically.
According to his testimony, Dr. Hussam was assaulted after a previous visit from his lawyer. He was also explicitly warned not to share any information with his lawyer about the conditions of his detention or the violations he is suffering.
Even inside prison, they want to silence his voice.
They beat him because he speaks, and threaten him because he exposes what is happening to him.
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya is not merely a detainee; he is a doctor who devoted his life to caring for patients and the wounded. Today, he is being left to face torture and abuse behind bars.
Hussam Abu Safiya needs our voices.
Do not let them make his suffering disappear into silence.
Save Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya.
I write from inside a tent in Gaza, where sleep and fear have become my constant companions.
Every night I lie on the dusty ground, covering my head with a thin blanket that offers no protection from the cold or the sound of the planes flying low overhead. The tent offers no protection. Rain seeps through the holes, and dust enters with every explosion, near or far. The neighbor's children cry, and I try to comfort them with words I myself don't believe.
For months, we have been moving from place to place. The house we used to live in no longer exists. Only one wall remains, and memories are buried under the rubble. Now we live among dozens of families in a small area, with no privacy and no safety. The yellow line is close, and drones hover over the tents constantly. We don't know when something will fall on our heads.
Hunger is present, water is scarce, and medicine is almost nonexistent. My mother sits for hours staring into nothingness, and my father tries to find any work to bring us an extra loaf of bread. I write these words while I hear the sounds of bullets and explosions on the horizon. The world outside this tent goes on with its life as if nothing has happened.
The suffering here isn't just words. It's an endless night, a daily fear that this night might be our last. We simply ask to stop living like this, to return to our homes, even if they're in ruins. We want to sleep without waiting for death.
Happening now in the occupied West Bank: the Israeli occupation has gone wild.
An Israeli terrorist settler wearing an army helmet tried to break into my house. He brought an Israeli army soldier with him to facilitate his entry.
Israeli soldiers and settlers are working together to terrorize and intimidate Palestinians across the West Bank.
This is not isolated settler violence. It is a dangerous pattern of settlers operating with the protection, presence, or complicity of Israeli forces.
«Ils ont arraché le dernier olivier de ma terre»
Le palestinien Khalil Al-Far a versé des larmes en regardant les bulldozers israéliens déraciner les oliviers sur ses terres à Arraba, près de Jénine, affirmant que la destruction avait emporté le dernier olivier qui lui restait.

Please, don’t believe everything you hear about Gaza, especially those who say that Gaza City is beginning to recover or that life has returned to normal.
Come and see what we see every day. Nothing is normal here. People are still living among destruction and fear, searching for water, food, medicine, and a place where they can sleep safely.
Aid has become scarce, and the organizations that once helped people are stopping their work one after another. The water crisis is becoming more severe, tents are torn and worn out, and they can barely protect the people inside them. Patients are living with pain and fear, while many families are unable to provide even their most basic medical needs.
What hurts the most is that it is not only the city that is collapsing before our eyes people’s lives are falling apart with it. Families have lost their homes, children have lost their schools, patients have lost access to treatment, and many people have lost everything. All they have left is a tent where they wait for another day.
Please don’t talk about life returning to normal while people here are struggling for the most basic necessities of life.
We are not living at the end of the war… we are living with its consequences, its fear, and its destruction every single day.
What we see with our own eyes is far more painful than words can describe.

Thank God, despite being shot in the head, the little girl is still alive at this moment and is receiving treatment at the hospital.
She is only 10 years old, and she is now fighting for her life after simply walking down the street just a short while ago.
Please, keep her in your prayers. Pray with all your hearts that she survives, that God gives her the strength to hold on, and that she returns safely to her family. 🤲💔
All we are asking for now is for this little girl to live… She deserves to live.

AGAIN: I implore diplomats and UN personnel present in Palestine, conscientious Israelis, and anyone who can, to go to the West Bank and to peacefully be there, where Palestinian communities are.
Protective presence is absolutely needed.
In his latest message relayed through his lawyer, detained Palestinian doctor Hussam Abu Safiya says Israeli prison guards continue to beat him across his body, including sensitive areas, using their hands, feet and batons. He says the assaults also occur after meetings with his lawyers.
Abu Safiya also reports deliberate sleep deprivation through loud noises and speakers during the night, along with threats warning him not to disclose information about his detention conditions to his lawyers.
He says he previously suffered injuries to his head, face and other parts of his body, while Israeli Prison Service records documented an injury to his left eye and complaints of head and chest injuries.
This piece by the great Amira Hass, published in Haaretz today, is too urgent and important to be behind a paywall, so I've copied the whole thing here. Please read and share.

Israel Isn't Debating a Palestinian State. It's Preparing for Expulsion.
Gadi Eisenkot's position on Palestinian statehood is beside the point. Across Gaza, the West Bank and Israel itself, the machinery for making Palestinian life impossible is already operating, laying the groundwork for mass expulsion
Gadi Eisenkot, the election frontrunner and leader of the Yashar party, has a stance on a Palestinian state that is ultimately irrelevant. What is at stake today is not a "diplomatic solution," but the very existence of the Palestinian people between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. The Israeli forces striving to "erase" them recognize no limits or restraints. Their supporters are too numerous for us to rely solely on the steadfastness and resilience of a people that has already endured expulsion plans carried out by Israel.
The world stands by. The left is tiny, weak and hoarse from sounding too many warnings. The anti-Bibi opposition oscillates among downplaying the danger, remaining indifferent to it and outright supporting expulsion. The sporadic condemnations, prompted mainly by something the U.S. ambassador posted on X, are about as useful as a sieve in a rainstorm. The Jewish Phalangists attack constantly and everywhere, not only in Qusra.
The debate over one state, two states or a federation is more theoretical than ever. Any agreed-upon solution requires first acknowledging the problem and agreeing on what it is. Too many Jews in Israel have been conditioned to believe that the problem is the very presence in this land of a Palestinian people with roots, historical and economic continuity, cultural capital and material assets, a rich agricultural heritage and a profound love of homeland.
"Erasure" is the nightmare solution being written into reality every day. Knesset laws, politicians' declarations, military orders, school textbooks and the holy real estate battalions operating in Gaza, the West Bank and the Negev all work, together and separately, to advance this "solution" diligently and without fear of international condemnation.
Israeli policy is directed toward making life unbearable for Palestinians wherever they live, so that their emigration can be described as an act of free will. Within Israel itself, the authorities give Arab crime organizations free rein to arm themselves and kill Palestinian citizens in their homes. In the West Bank, those same Israeli authorities give "God's battalions" free rein to arm themselves, kill and expel, while the official army continues its raids day and night. In devastated and thirsty Gaza, the government and the army cultivate armed militias of criminal collaborators, while Israeli pilots continue to launch missiles of revenge and retribution that claim the lives of still more children. All these testosterone-fueled displays are interconnected.
At the same time, Israel is destroying or severely restricting Palestinians' ability to earn a living. In Gaza, that mission has been completed. A "living dead" population of aid recipients, two million people carrying the weight of some 74,000 fresh graves, families and memories, talents and professions, and evaporated savings, is crammed into roughly 150 square kilometers of scorched earth. Creativity, resourcefulness and mutual aid are dwarfed by the scale of the destruction and by Israel's prohibition on rebuilding and recovery.
In the West Bank, the Finance Ministry's financial noose is tightening around the necks of approximately three million people and the Palestinian Authority. The systematic theft of revenues is compounded by the army's campaigns of destruction in cities and refugee camps, as well as by the other methods used to prevent Palestinians from cultivating and developing their land: checkpoints, bureaucratic prohibitions, fences and Israeli-Jewish shepherds.
Within Israel itself, the "Judaization of the Galilee and Negev" was and remains code for stealing land and resources from Palestinian citizens of Israel. Discrimination against them in allocations, subsidies and employment, along with building prohibitions and demolitions, has always featured prominently in official policy within the Green Line.
Let me reiterate: The very existence of the Palestinian people between the sea and the river is now in danger. Too many active forces are creating that danger: Israel's military might and capabilities; the cult of military service under all conditions and under every government; obedience as a value; weapons and military attacks as the default modus operandi; the normalization of PTSD among soldiers and of soldiers dying by suicide; the attractions of a military career and the doors it opens; the lure of an affordable villa in a Galilee exclusionary community or a settler suburb in Samaria; the falsehoods of official and unofficial propaganda; indifference to the hell on earth Israel has created in the Gaza Strip; denial of 60 years of occupation and forced rule; the Pavlovian response, "But October 7"; the synergy among the army, the government, the rabbis and the kippa-wearing militias in the West Bank; equanimity in the face of Lebanon's destruction; disregard for the occupation of more parts of Syria; the normalization of expulsion discourse; justice and education systems tainted by secular and religious racism; and the army of jailers who abuse thousands of Palestinian prisoners, both under orders and by choice.
Together, these and similar forces are creating the material, ideological and psychological infrastructure within Israeli-Jewish society for another mass expulsion of Palestinians and for what might accompany it: mass slaughter.
The heroes of the settler militias openly declare that expulsion is their goal. They clearly recognize the readiness of large segments of Israeli-Jewish society to participate in carrying it out, actively or passively, directly or indirectly. Through their daily provocations and crimes, committed in broad daylight and made possible only by institutional support, the Phalangists constantly seek to provoke a Palestinian act of rage and revenge that "succeeds," so that it can be exploited as the match that ignites a new holy war.
The Jewish Phalangists and the right-wing organizations that fuel them are counting on broad mobilization, including from the leaders, voters and supporters of Yashar and the liberal Democrats party, for a war that could already be given the slogan: "One people, one army, one land cleansed of Arabs."
While I was sitting alone, with every member of my family asleep, my mother suddenly woke up and burst into tears.
I approached her in fear and asked:
“Mom, what’s wrong? Why are you crying? What happened?”
She wiped away her tears, looked at me with eyes exhausted by grief, and said:
“I saw your father in my dream… He was standing in front of me, saying, ‘I miss you and my children.’ Then he smiled at me… and walked away.”
Imagine that kind of pain…
To wake up from your sleep not because you had a nightmare, but because you had finally met, in a dream, the person you have been deprived of for 26 years—only to wake up and realize that the reunion was never real, that it was nothing more than a dream created by longing.
My mother kept crying because, for a few brief moments, she felt as though he had come back to her.
And I cried because I realized once again that I was born into this world without ever having the chance to see my father.
The Israeli occupation forces killed my father 26 years ago, and I have never seen him in my entire life—not since the day I was born. I never heard his voice, never sat beside him, never felt his embrace, and never knew what it was like to have a father to run to when I was afraid or broken.
The simplest things that every child deserves were taken away from me.
As for my mother, they did not just kill him once…
They left her to face his death every single day—to experience the loss again and again, carrying his absence in her heart for 26 years.
26 years of longing… 26 years of pain… 26 years of waiting for someone she knows will never return.
Even now, my mother has nothing left but her dreams to meet the husband she was robbed of in life.
Even in her dreams, they did not let her keep him for long.💔
The level of microbiological contamination in Gaza’s water has increased nearly threefold between January and August, rising from less than 6% to more than 18%, based on the analysis of more than 6,700 water samples.
This contamination has led to more than 27,000 people suffering from various illnesses and health symptoms, including poisoning, acute diarrhea, chronic diseases, and serious damage to the liver and kidneys.
This is not merely contaminated water; it is a direct threat to the lives of hundreds of thousands of civilians, amid the collapse of the water and sanitation systems and the absence of even the most basic conditions for safe living.
The catastrophes in Gaza continue to strike every single day, relentlessly and without mercy.
The Israelization of our societies is a fact. Israel is a model of containment/repression dressed as democracy. Pro-Israel groups sell that image abroad; domestic authoritarian drift driven by private interests does the rest. The regression on dissent in the West is one receipt.
For the past two days, my family in Gaza has been going through extremely difficult circumstances, and I feel that I need to share with you what is happening to them and what I am going through as well.
A few days ago, one of my friends invited me to visit him in Zurich, a city far from where I live. At first, I told him that I didn’t want to go and that I didn’t feel ready, but he insisted many times that I come and spend some time with him.
The truth is that since arriving in Switzerland, I have been trying to live a normal life — to go out, discover new places, meet friends, and prepare for my studies. But deep inside, I still don’t feel ready to live normally like everyone else.
While I was on the train to Zurich, I spoke with my family. They told me that the previous two days had been extremely difficult for them. They did not have enough proper food, and even getting clean drinking water had become difficult. With donations decreasing, it has also become much harder to cover their daily needs, alongside my father’s medical treatment and all the other expenses that never stop.
After that call, I felt like I wanted to turn around and go back. I called my friend and told him what had happened and that I no longer felt able to continue the journey. But he insisted that I come and not stay alone with all these thoughts.
I sat on the train looking out of the window at the beautiful nature, the mountains and cities, and at the people around me simply living their normal lives. At the same time, all I could think about was my family: Do they have enough to eat today? Do they have clean water? How will I help pay for my father’s treatment? How will I continue providing for their basic needs?
And truthfully, I sat there crying silently on the train.
It is incredibly difficult to see so much beauty around you while knowing that the people you love more than anything are struggling for the most basic necessities. My body was on that train heading toward Zurich, but my mind and my heart were with my family in Gaza.
When I left Gaza, I hoped that things would somehow become easier for me and my family. Instead, I feel that the responsibility and pressure have only become greater. I am trying to build a life here and prepare for my studies in a new country, while at the same time, from far away, trying every day to find a way to help my family survive and keep going.
That is why I am writing this today to say: Please don’t forget my family. Please don’t stop standing beside us.
Donations have decreased significantly recently, and I’m scared that I can no longer provide everything my family needs on my own. Food, clean water, my father’s medical treatment, and their daily necessities cannot wait.
Sometimes I worry that I am bothering you by talking so much about donations, or that you might feel that I am putting pressure on you or becoming a burden. That feeling hurts me deeply. But please believe me when I say that if I had another choice, I would never have to ask for help like this.
My family is still in Gaza. They still need help. And the conditions they are living through have become even harder than they were when I was there beside them.
If you are still here, my family and I need you now more than ever. If you are able to donate, even a small amount can help them access food, clean water, and medical care. And if you cannot donate, sharing our story and fundraiser can help us reach someone else who may be able to help.
Thank you to every person who is still here — everyone who asks about my family, everyone who donates, and everyone who shares our story. I will never forget any of the help you have given us. ❤️
All I want is to know that my family has enough food and clean water, that my father can receive his treatment, and that they can make it through another day with safety and dignity. 🇵🇸❤️
